[Machine] He said: "Bring dates and fresh dates closer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so they ate from them until nothing remained except the pits. There was no good in it, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do you know what this is? You are consuming the good until nothing is left but this (meaning the pits).'"  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قُرِّبَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَمْرٌ وَرُطَبٌ فَأَكَلُوا مِنْهُ حَتَّى لَمْ يُبْقُوا شَيْئًا إِلَّا نَوَاةً وَمَا لَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَدْرُونَ مَا هَذَا؟ تَذْهَبُونَ الْخَيِّرُ فَالْخَيِّرُ حَتَّى لَا يَبْقَى مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا مِثْلُ هَذَا»  

[Machine] He said, "Some dates and dried dates were brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they ate from them until nothing was left except the seed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, 'Do you know what this is?' They replied, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'You are consuming the good part and leaving the best part, until nothing remains of you except like this.'"

[Machine] Dates and fresh dates were brought close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they ate from them until there was nothing left but the pits. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you know what this is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "You are getting rid of the good until nothing is left of it from you except this."
