"يُلَقَّى عِيسَى حُجّتَهُ فِى قَوْلِهِ: {وَإِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَاعِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ أَأَنْتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّيَ إِلَهَيْنِ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ} فَلَقَّاهُ اللَّه: {سُبْحَانَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ. . .} الآية".

When God says, ‘Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to people, “Take me and my mother as two gods alongside God”?’ he will say, ‘May You be exalted! I would never say what I had no right to say- if I had said such a thing You would have known it: You know all that is within me, though I do not know what is within You, You alone have full knowledge of things unseen-

Wa-iz qaalal laahu yaa-'Eesab na Maryama 'a-anta qulta linnaasit takhizoonee Wa-ummiya ilaahaini min doonil laahi qaala Subhaanak(a) maa yakkoonu leee an aqoola maa laisa lee bihaqq; in kuntu qultuhoo faqad 'alimtah; ta'lamu maa fee nafsee Wa-laaa a'alamu maa fee nafsika; innaka Anta 'Allaamul Ghuyoob

القرآن:٥:١١٦

وَإِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِحَقٍّۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلْتُهُۥ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۥۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِكَۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ

tirmidhi:3062Ibn Abū ʿUmar > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > ʿAmr b. Dīnār > Ṭāwus > Abū Hurayrah

"'Eisa was taught his argument, Allah taught him regarding His saying: And when Allah will say: 'O 'Eisa, son of Mariam! Did you say unto men 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?'" Abu Hurairah narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "So Allah taught him: 'Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say) (5:116).' The entire Ayah.

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

الترمذي:٣٠٦٢حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

تَلَقَّى عِيسَى حُجَّتَهُ وَلَقَّاهُ اللَّهُ فِي قَوْلِهِِ ( وَإِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ أَأَنْتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَهَيْنِ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ) قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَقَّاهُ اللَّهُ ( سُبْحَانَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ ) الآيَةَ كُلَّهَا

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
