from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, "Allah ﷻ said: 'I am as my servant expects of me and I am with him as he remembers me.'" ˹The Prophet further said,˺ "By Allah, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert: ˹Allah said:˺ 'When he draws near Me by the span of his hand, I draw near him by the length of a cubit. And when he draws near Me by the length of a cubit, I draw near him by the length of a fathom. And when he draws near Me walking, I draw close to him running.'"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «قَالَ اللَّهُ ﷻ: أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حَيْثُ يَذْكُرُنِي۔ وَاللَّهِ لَلَّهُ أَفْرَحُ بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ يَجِدُ ضَالَّتَهُ بِالْفَلاَةِ۔ وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَىَّ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَىَّ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا، وَإِذَا أَقْبَلَ إِلَىَّ يَمْشِي أَقْبَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ أُهَرْوِلُ۔»

I am near to the thought of My servant as he thinks about Me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. And if he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My Heart, and if he remembers Me in assembly I remember him in assembly, better than his (remembrance), and if he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by the cubit, and if he draws near Me by the cubit I draw near him by the space (covered by) two hands. And if he walks towards Me, I rush towards him. (Using translation from Muslim 2675a)

[Machine] "When my servant comes to Me walking, I come to him running. And when he comes to Me with an arm's length, I come to him with a fathom's length. And when he comes to Me walking, I come to him hastening."

اللهُ ﷻ إِذَا جَاءَنِي عَبْدِي شِبْرًا جِئْتُهُ بِذِرَاعٍ وَإِذَا جَاءَنِي بِذِرَاعٍ جِئْتُهُ بِبَاعٍ وَإِذَا جَاءَنِي يَمْشِي جِئْتُهُ أُهَرْوِلُ

[Machine] Narrated by the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , from his Lord, He said, "Your Lord says: When My servant comes to Me walking, I go to him running. When he comes to Me with a span, I approach him with an arm's length. And when he comes to Me walking, I meet him trotting."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ ﷻ قَالَ يَقُولُ رَبُّكُمْ إِذَا تَلَقَّانِي عَبْدِي شِبْرًا تَلَقَّيْتُهُ ذِرَاعًا وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي ذِرَاعًا تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بَاعًا وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي يَمْشِي تَلَقَّيْتُهُ أُهَرْوِلُ

I heard a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ say that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah Almighty said: O son of Adam, stand for Me, and I will walk to you. Walk to Me, and I will come running to you."

سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: «قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، قُمْ إِلَيَّ، أَمْشِ إِلَيْكَ، وَامْشِ إِلَيَّ، أُهَرْوِلْ إِلَيْكَ.»

the Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah ﷻ says: 'I Am as my servant expects Me to be, and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they. And if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him. And if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go two outstretched arms nearer to him. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.'" (Using translation from Bukhārī 7405)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللهُ تَعَالَى «أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حِينَ يَذْكُرُنِي فَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي نَفْسِي وَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي مَلَأٍ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي مَلَأٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْهُمْ وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا وَإِنْ أَتَانِي يَمْشِي أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً»

اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وتعالى أنا عند ظن عبدي بي وأنا معه إذا ذكرني إن تقرب مني شبرا تقربت منه ذراعا وإن تقرب مني ذراعا تقربت منه باعا وإن جاءني يمشي جئته هرولة

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم إذا تقرب العبد من الله تبارك وتعالى شبرا تقرب الله منه ذراعا وإذا تقرب ذراعا تقرب الله منه باعا وإذا أقبل إِلَيَّ يمشي أقبلت إليه هرولة

"قَال اللهُ -تَعَالى-: "يَا بْنَ آدَمَ إِنْ ذَكَرْتَنِي في نَفْسِكَ ذَكَرْتُك فِي نَفْسِي، وَإنْ ذَكَرْتَنِي فِي مَلإ ذَكرْتُكَ فِي مَلإ خَيرٍ مِنْهُم, وَإنْ دَنَوتَ مِنِّي شِبْرًا دَنَوتُ مِنْكَ ذِرَاعًا، وَإنْ دَنَوتَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا دَنَوتُ مِنْكَ بَاعًا، وَإِنْ أَتَيتَني تَمْشِي أَتَيتُكَ أُهَرْولُ".

"قَال اللهُ -تَعَالى-: يَابْنَ آدَمَ قُمْ إِلَيَّ أَمْشِ إِلَيكَ وَامْشِ إِلَيَّ أُهَرْولْ إِلَيكَ".

"يَقُولُ اللَّه ﷻ: (ابْنَ آدَمَ: قُمْ إِلَىَّ أَمْشِ إِلَيْكَ، امْشِ إِلىَّ أُهَرْوِلْ إِلَيْكَ) ابْنَ آدَمَ: إِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّى شِبْرًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِنْ دَنَوْتَ مِنِّى ذِرَاعًا دَنَوْتُ مِنْكَ بَاعًا، ابْنَ آدَمَ: إِنَّ حَدَّثْتَ نَفْسَكَ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ تَعْمَلهَا كتَبْتُهَا لَكَ حَسَنَةً، وَإِنْ عَمِلتَهَا كَتَبْتُهَا لَكَ عَشْرًا، وَإِنْ هَمَمْتَ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَحَجَزَكَ عَنْهَا هَيْبَتِى كَتَبْتُهَا لَكَ حَسنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلتَهَا كَتَبْتُهَا سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً".
