"Some persons from the Ansar asked for (something) from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he gave them. They again asked him for (something), and he gave them. Then he said: 'whatever of good that I have, I would never hoard it from any of you. (Remember) whoever abstains from asking others, Allah will make him content, and whoever tries to make due, Allah will suffice him. And whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and more encompassing than patience."  

أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ سَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا يَكُونُ عِنْدِي مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ أَدَّخِرَهُ عَنْكُمْ وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَتَصَبَّرْ يُصَبِّرْهُ اللَّهُ وَمَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدٌ شَيْئًا هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَأَوْسَعُ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ  

Malik related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ata ibn Yazid al-Laythi from Abu Said al-Khudri that some people of the Ansar asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he gave to them. Then they asked him again, and he gave to them until he used up what he had. Then he said, "What wealth I have, I will not hoard from you. Whoever has forbearance, Allah will help him. Whoever tries to be independent, Allah will enrich him. Whoever tries to be patient, Allah will give him patience, and no one is given a better or vaster gift than patience."  

أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ ثُمَّ سَأَلُوهُ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ حَتَّى نَفِدَ مَا عِنْدَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا يَكُونُ عِنْدِي مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ أَدَّخِرَهُ عَنْكُمْ وَمَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ يَتَصَبَّرْ يُصَبِّرْهُ اللَّهُ وَمَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدٌ عَطَاءً هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَأَوْسَعُ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever remains patient, Allah will make him steadfast; and whoever seeks contentment, Allah will make him self-sufficient; and whoever remains chaste, Allah will make him pure. And I do not find that you will have a provision more abundant than patience."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ يَتَصَبَّرْ يُصَبِّرْهُ اللهُ وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللهُ وَمَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللهُ وَمَا أَجِدُ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا أَوْسَعَ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ  

Some of the Ansar begged from the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) and he gave them something. They later begged from him again and he gave them something so that what he had was exhausted. He then said :What I have I shall never store away from you but Allah will strengthen the abstinence of him who abstains, will give a satisfaction to him who wants to be satisfied, and will strengthen the endurance of him who shows endurance. No one has been given a more ample gift than endurance. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1644)

"مَنْ يَصْبِرْ يُصبِّرْهُ اللهُ، وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِ يُغْنِهِ اللهُ ﷻ وَمَنْ يَسْأَلْنَا نُعْطِهِ، وَمَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدٌ رِزقًا أَوْسَعَ لَهُ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ".  

"مَا يَكُونُ عِنْدِي مِنْ خَيرٍ فَلَنْ أَدَّخِرهُ عَنْكُمْ، وإنَّهُ مَن يَسْتَعْفِفْ يُعِفَّهُ اللهُ، وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْن يُغنِهِ اللهُ، وَمن يتَصبَّرْ يُصبِّرْه اللهُ، وَمَا أُعْطِى أَحدٌ عَطاءً خَيرًا وأوْسعَ مِن الصَّبْر".
