When 'Uthman b. 'Affan intended to build the mosque (of the Prophet) the people did not approve of it. They liked that it should be kept in the same state. Thereupon he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: He who built a mosque for Allah, Allah would build a house for him like it in Paradise.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِثْلَهُ

He who observed twelve voluntary rak'ahs, a house will be built for him in Paradise.

عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ سَجْدَةً تَطَوُّعًا بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He who builds a mosque for Allah, Allah would build for him (a house) in Paradise like it.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِثْلَهُ

" Allah would build for him a house in Paradise."

أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: If anyone prays in a day and a night twelve rak'ahs voluntarily (supererogatory prayer), a house will be built from him in Paradise on account of these (rak'ahs).

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً تَطَوُّعًا بُنِيَ لَهُ بِهِنَّ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"Whoever builds a Masjid in which Allah is remembered, Allah, (the Mighty and Sublime) will build for him a house in Paradise."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"I was told that Umm Habibah bin Abi Sufyan said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the day and night, apart from the prescribed prayers, Allah (SWT) will build for him a house in Paradise.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ رَكَعَ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِي يَوْمِهِ وَلَيْلَتِهِ سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"I said to Ata: 'I heard that you pray twelve rak'ahs before Jumu'ah. What did you hear concerning that?' He said: 'I was told that Umm Habibah bin Abi Sufyan said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the day and night, apart from the prescribed prayers, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ رَكَعَ اثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بَنَى اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs a day, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَطَاءٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ عَنْبَسَةَ

"I came to At-Ta'if and entered upon Anbasah bin Abi Sufyan when he was dying. I saw that he was afraid so I said: 'You will be fine.' He said: 'My sister Umm Habibah told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs by day or by night, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بِالنَّهَارِ أَوْ بِاللَّيْلِ بَنَى اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَالَفَهُمْ أَبُو يُونُسَ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ

"Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in a day and prays before Zuhr, Allah (SWT) will build for him a house in Paradise."

مَنْ صَلَّى ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِي يَوْمٍ فَصَلَّى قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the night and day other than the prescribed prayers, a house will be built for him in Paradise: four before Zuhr and two rak'ahs afterward, two before Asr, two after Maghrib and two before Fajr."

مَنْ صَلَّى فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَرْبَعًا قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا وَثِنْتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ وَثِنْتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَثِنْتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the day and night, a house will be built for him in Paradise."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the night and day apart from the prescribed prayers, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise."

مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بَنَى اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ حُصَيْنٌ وَأَدْخَلَ بَيْنَ عَنْبَسَةَ وَبَيْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ ذَكْوَانَ

Umm Habibah told him: "Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs, a house will be built for him in Paradise."

أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in a day apart from the obligatory prayers, Allah (SWT) will build for him, or there will be built for him, a house in Paradise.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْفَرِيضَةِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ أَوْ بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs a day and night, Allah (SWT) will build for him a house in Paradise."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in a day, a house will be built for him in Paradise."

مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ اثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever builds a mosque in which the Name of Allah is mentioned, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build something similar for him in Paradise.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah (from his own wealth), Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا مِنْ مَالِهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ أَوْ أَصْغَرَ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever removes something harmful from the mosque, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَخْرَجَ أَذًى مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

“Whoever performs twelve Rak’ah (of Sunnah) during the day and night, a house will be built for him in Paradise.”

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever prays twenty Rak’ah between Maghrib and ‘Isha’, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ عِشْرِينَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Whoever prays Duha with twelve Rak’ah, Allah will build for him a palace of gold in Paradise.’”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build a similar one for him in Paradise."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِثْلَهُ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray sixteen rakʿahs at night apart from the prescribed prayers.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, even if it is as small as a sparrow's nest, Allah will build a house for him in paradise."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا وَلَوْ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ لِبَيْضِهَا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house in Paradise that is wider than it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ أَوْسَعُ مِنْهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] "Shu'bah wrote to me and I read to him from Abu Uthman, the freed slave of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, from Abu Hurairah, who said: Abdullah said, my father said, he did not elevate it. He said, no Muslim servant who prays twelve voluntary rak'ahs in a day, except that a house is built for him in Jannah."

شُعْبَةُ كَتَبَ بِهِ إِلَيَّ فَقَرَأْتُهُ عَلَيْهِ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ قَالَ أَبِي وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ قَالَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُسْلِمٍ يُصَلِّي فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً تَطَوُّعًا إِلَّا بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَبْنِي لَهُ بَيْتًا أَوْسَعَ مِنْهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays twelve voluntary prostrations, Allah will build a house for him in paradise."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَلَّى اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَجْدَةً تَطَوُّعًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا وَلَوْ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, even the size of a bird's nest, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا وَلَوْ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَوْسَعَ مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Surah Ad-Dukhan on the night of Jumu'ah (Friday) or on the day of Jumu'ah, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَرَأَ حم الدُّخَانَ فِي لَيْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ أَوْ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, in which Allah's worshipers pray, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise better than it."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا يُصَلَّى فِيهِ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah (from his own wealth), Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 737)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ»

The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 738)
