[Machine] A man came to Umar and asked him, so Umar started examining his head and then his legs, asking: "Do you see any signs of poverty on them?" Then Umar asked him, "How much wealth do you have?" The man answered, "Forty camels." Ibn Abbas said, "So I said, 'Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth: If the son of Adam had a valley filled with gold, he would still seek a second valley, and nothing fills the stomach of the son of Adam except dust. And Allah turns to him who repents.' Then Umar asked, 'What is this?' So I said, 'This is what Ubayy recited to me.' Umar then told him to bring him to him, and when he came to Umar, he asked, 'What does this mean?' Ubayy replied, 'This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it.' Umar asked, 'Shall I write it down?' Ubayy said, 'Yes,' and Umar wrote it down."

He replied, 'Forty camels.' Ibn Abbas said, 'So I said, "Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth: If the son of Adam possessed two valleys of gold, he would desire a third, but nothing will fill the belly of the son of Adam except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent."' Umar then asked me what I was saying. I replied, 'I am narrating it as I heard it from Ubay ibn Ka'b.' Umar told me to take him to him, and when we went to him, Umar asked, 'What is he saying?' Ubay replied, 'This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated it to me.'"
