Doubt in prayer and two prostrations before salam
[AI] "If one of you prays and doubts in his prayer, then if he doubts between one and two, let him make them one. If he doubts between two and three, let him make them two. If he doubts between three and four, let him make them three, until the doubt is in the addition. Then let him prostrate two prostrations before he gives salam, then let him give salam." I said: "By Allah, O Commander of the Faithful, I do not know; I have not heard anything about that." Umar said: "By Allah, I do not know." He said: "While we were in that state, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf came." He said: "What is this that you two are discussing?" Umar said to him: "We mentioned the man who doubts in his prayer, how he should act." He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say this hadith."

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying; When one of you stands up to pray, the devil comes to him and confuses him so that he does not know how much he has prayed. If any of you has such an experience, he should perform two prostrations while he is sitting. Abu Dawud said; This tradition has been narrated in a similar manner by Ibn ‘Uyainab, Ma’mar and al-Laith. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1030)
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘If anyone of you is uncertain as to whether he has prayed one or two Rak’ah, let him assume it is one. If he is uncertain as to whether he has prayed two or three, let him assume it is two. If he is uncertain as to whether he has prayed three or four, let him assume it is three. Then let him complete what is left of his prayer, so that the doubt will be about what is more. Then let him prostrate twice while he is sitting, before the Taslim (saying the Salam).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1209)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When anyone of you stands for the prayers, Satan comes and puts him in doubts till he forgets how many rakʿat he has prayed. So if this happens to anyone of you, he should perform two prostrations of Sahu while sitting. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1232)
