"عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وهبٍ، عن عُمَرَ قال: إِذَا كَانوا ثلاثةً في سفر فَلْيُؤمِّروا عَلَيهم أحَدَهم، ذاكَ أَميرٌ أَمَّره رسول الله ﷺ ".

البزار، وابن خزيمة، [قط] الدارقطنى في السنن في الأفراد، [حل] أبى نعيم في الحلية [ك] الحاكم في المستدرك

[Machine] Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, "If there are three people, let one of them be appointed as their leader, whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has commanded."

الحاكم:١٦٢٣ – ثنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ

عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ «إِذَا كَانَ نَفَرٌ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَلْيُؤَمِّرُوا أَحَدَهُمْ ذَاكَ أَمِيرٌ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ

suyuti:2436a –

The Prophet ﷺ said: When three are on a journey, they should appoint one of them as their commander. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2608)
