His wealth will not avail him, nor what he has earned (wa-kasab means wa-kasbihi, that is to say, his sons; mā aghnā means ˹mā˺ yughnī).

البيهقي:١٦٦٥٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنِي شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ وَاثِلَةَ اللَّيْثِيُّ قَالَ قَدِْمَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ تَيْمَاءَ عَلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ ابْنَ هُرْمُزَ ظَلَمَنِي وَاعْتَدَى عَلَيَّ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ عَادَ لَهُ فِي الشِّكَايَةِ لِابْنِ هُرْمُزَ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ وَغَضِبَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّا نَجِدُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ الَّتِي أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ ﷻ عَلَى مُوسَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ ﷺ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْإِمَامِ مِنْ جَوْرِ الْعَامِلِ وَظُلْمِهِ شَيْءٌ مَا لَمْ يَبْلُغْهُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ ظُلْمِهِ وَجَوْرِهِ فَإِذَا بَلَغَهُ فَأَقَرَّهُ شَرَكَهُ فِي جَوْرِهِ وَظُلْمِهِ فَلَمَّا ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ نَزَعَ ابْنَ هُرْمُزَ
