The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was asked: "Which deed is best?" "He said: Faith in Allah [SWT] and His messenger [SAW]."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was asked: "Which deed is best?" "He said: Faith in Allah [SWT] and His messenger [SAW]."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, "To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah's Cause." The questioner again asked, "What is the next (in goodness)?" He replied, "To perform Hajj (Pilgrim age to Mecca) 'Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet)."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ
The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which is the best deed?" He said, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle." He was then asked, "Which is the next (in goodness)?" He said, "To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause." He was then asked, "Which is the next?" He said, "To perform Hajj-Mabrur. "
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ جِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قِيلَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ
A man asked the Prophet ﷺ "What deeds are the best?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "(1) To perform the (daily compulsory) prayers at their (early) stated fixed times, (2) to be good and dutiful to one's own parents, (3) and to participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause."
أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
The best of' the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَفْضَلُ الأَعْمَالِ أَوِ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ
The Prophet ﷺ was asked: which is the best action? He replied: To stand in prayer for a long time.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ طُولُ الْقِيَامِ
The Messenger of Allah was asked: "Which Hajj is the most virtuous?" He said: "That with raised voices (Al-Ajj) and the flow of blood (of the sacrifice) (Ath-Thajj)."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْحَجِّ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ
"A man asked the Prophet 'O Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'then Hajj Al-Mabrir.'''
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ ثُمَّ الْحَجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ
"Belief in Allah and Jihad in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime."
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ خَيْرٌ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ
"A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which deed is best. He said: 'Faith in Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'Hajjun Mabrur.'" [1] [1] Hajj, that is accepted, or free of sin.
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا قَالَ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ
The Prophet [SAW] was asked: "Which deed is best?" He said: "Faith in which there is no doubt, Jihad in which there is no Ghulul, and Hajjatun Mabrur."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ فَقَالَ إِيمَانٌ لاَ شَكَّ فِيهِ وَجِهَادٌ لاَ غُلُولَ فِيهِ وَحَجَّةٌ مَبْرُورَةٌ
“Which actions are best?” He said: “Raising one’s voice and slaughtering the sacrificial animal.”
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ
[AI] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Belief in Allah and striving in the cause of Allah."
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time, showing kindness to parents, and striving in the cause of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَوَاتُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ﷻ
The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which is the best deed?" He said, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle." He was then asked, "Which is the next (in goodness)?" He said, "To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause." He was then asked, "Which is the next?" He said, "To perform Hajj-Mabrur. " (Using translation from Bukhārī 1519)

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked: 'Which deed is the most virtuos ? And which deed is the best ?' He ﷺ said: 'Faith in Allah and His Messenger.' It was said: 'Then what ?' He said: 'Jihad is the hump (the most prominent) of the deeds.' Then what O Messenger of Allah ? He said: 'Then Hajj Mabrur.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1658)
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ وَأَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ سَنَامُ الْعَمَلِ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ
[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" So he mentioned something like it.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was asked which actions are the best, and he replied: "Belief in Allah and Jihad in the cause of Allah, and performing the Hajj pilgrimage which is accepted." Abu Abdullah Al-Rahman said, "Or performing the accepted Hajj pilgrimage."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الْإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَوْ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?" He replied, "Offering the prayer at its earliest time."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ»
[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Faith in Allah and striving in His path."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِهِ»
Prayer at its appointed hour. I (again) said: Then what? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Kindness to the parents. I (again) said: Then what? He replied: Earnest endeavour (Jihad) in the cause of Allah. And I would have not ceased asking more questions but out of regard (for his feelings). (Using translation from Muslim 85a)
سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»
[AI] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are the best?" He said, "Praying at the earliest time of its prescribed period."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
[AI] I attended the Prophet ﷺ and he was asked which actions are the best. He said, "Having good character."
حَضَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ»
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, the best deed of a believer is jihad for the sake of Allah."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ عَمَلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
[AI] I asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Performing prayers on time, and then striving in the cause of Allah."
سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
[AI] I asked the Prophet ﷺ which deeds are the best. He said, "Praying at the appointed time, then being kind to one's parents, then striving in the cause of Allah."
سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which action is best. He said, "Offering prayers in their earliest time, being dutiful to parents, and striving in the path of Allah."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
[AI] I said, "Oh Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Praying on time."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»
[AI] On the authority of a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , it is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deed is the best?" He replied, "The prayer at its appointed time."
عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»
[AI] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ, "Which deeds are the best?" He said, "Believing in Allah and striving in His cause." Then he repeated his question. He said, "Then the best deed is performing righteous actions, except for the example of a perfect Hajj."
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الْإِيمَانُ بِاللهِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ» ثُمَّ أَرْعَدَتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَهْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ عَمَلٌ هُوَ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ سَائِرِ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَّا كَمَثَلِ حَجَّةٍ بَارَّةٍ»
[AI] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, which earnings are the best?" He said, "The work of a person's own hands."
قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْكَسْبِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «عَمَلُ الرَّجُلِ بِيَدِهِ»
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a man asked him, "Which actions are the best?" He said, "Belief in Allah, Jihad in the cause of Allah, and performing an accepted Hajj."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»
[AI] She heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The best of deeds is belief in Allah, Jihad in the cause of Allah, and a fulfilled pilgrimage."
أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَفْضَلُ الْأَعْمَالِ إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»
[AI] The prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He said, "Belief in Allah, striving in the cause of Allah, and accepted pilgrimage."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Believing in Allah and then performing the prayer at its prescribed time."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ لَأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
"A man asked the Prophet 'O Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' He said: 'Then what?' He said: 'then Hajj Al-Mabrir.''' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2624)
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللهِ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَاذَا؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked which action is best. He replied, "Feeding others and greeting them."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أِيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ كَذَا
"أفْضَلُ الأعْمالِ: إيمانٌ بالله ورَسُولِه، ثم جهاد في سبيل الله، ثم حَجٌّ مَبْرُور".
"أفْضَلُ الأعْمَالِ: إيمان بالله وَرَسَولِهِ، ثم الجهاد في سبيل الله سنَامُ العَمَلِ، ثم حَجٌّ مَبْرور".
"أفضَلُ الأعْمَال عنْدَ الله، إيمان بالله، وجِهاد في سبيل الله، وحَجٌّ مبرورٌ قَالُوا: ما بِرُّ الحجِّ؟ ، قال: إطعامُ الطعام وَطيِبُ الكَلام".
The best of' the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents. (Using translation from Muslim 85e)
"أفْضَلُ الأعَمالِ الصَّلاةُ لِوَقتِها، وبرُّ الوَالدين" .
"أفضلُ الأعمالِ الصَّلاةُ في أوَّلِ وَقتِهَا" .
"أفضلُ الأعمالِ إيمانٌ بالله، ثمَّ الصلاةُ لأوَّلِ وَقِتها".
"أفضل العمل إيمان بالله وجهاد في سبيله".
" سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: الصَّلَاةُ فِى أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا".
