I ascended the roof of the house and saw the Apostle of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) sitting on two bricks facing Jerusalem (Bait al-Maqdis) for relieving himself. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 12)  

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٢أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«لَقَدِ ارْتَقَيْتُ عَلَى ظَهَرِ بَيْتِنَا فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى لَبِنَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ لِحَاجَتِهِ»

[Machine] He used to say that some people would say, "If you sit for your need, do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) or the Al-Aqsa Mosque. I climbed on the back of our house and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting with his back towards the Qibla for his need."  

ابن حبّان:١٤٢١أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حِبَّانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ إِذَا قَعَدْتَ لِحَاجَتِكَ فَلَا تَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ لَقَدِ ارْتَقَيْتُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيْتِنَا «فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى لَبِنَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ لِحَاجَتِهِ»
