"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The deceased is punished in his grave due to the wailing over him."'  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ  

ʿThe deceased is tormented in his grave because of being wailed over.ʿ Al-Hajjaj said: ʿ...because of the wailing over him.ʿ  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ حَجَّاجٌ بِالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ  

ʿThe deceased is tormented in his grave because of the wailing over him.”  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ  

“The deceased is tormented in his grave because of the wailing over him.ʿ  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ  

The Prophet ﷺ said: ʿThe deceased is tormented in his grave because of the wailing for him.ʿ  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ  

"الميِّتُ يعذَّبُ في قبرهِ بما نيحِ عليه ".  

"الميِّتُ يعذَّب في قبرِهِ بالنياحةِ عليه ".  

“The deceased is tormented in his grave because of the wailing over him.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 180)   

"إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بالنِّيَاحَةِ عَلَيْهِ فِى قَبْرِهِ".  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The deceased is tortured in his grave for the wailing done over him." Narrated Shu'ba: The deceased is tortured for the wailing of the living ones over him . (Using translation from Bukhārī 1292)   

"إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعذَّبُ في قَبْرهِ بما نِيحَ عليه".
