from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "If you were to rely upon Allah with the required reliance, then you will be provided for you just as a bird is provided for: it goes out in the morning empty, and returns full."
عَنْ النَّبِي ﷺ قَالَ «لَو أَنَّكُم تَوَكَّلُون عَلَى الله حَق تَوَكُّلِه، لَرُزِقْتُم كَمَا تُرْزَق الطَّيْر: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوح بِطَانًا».

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ، لَرُزِقْتُمْ كَمَا تُرْزَقُ الطَّيْرُ: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا».
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, he will give provision like birds are provided for: They go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.”
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَوَكَّلْتُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ، لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا».
I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “If you truly put your trust in Allah, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they go out with empty stomachs and come back with full stomachs.ʿ
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَوَكَّلْتُمْ عَلَى اللهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ؛ تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا
I heard Abu Tameem al-Jaishani say: I heard ʿUmar bin al Khattab ؓ say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “If you really put your trust in Allah, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. Do you not see that they go out with empty stomachs and come back with full stomachs?“
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ أَلا تَرَوْنَ أَنَّهَا تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا؟
that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If you were to put your trust in Allah as you should, you will be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.”
إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَتَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ، لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا».
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “If you were to rely upon Allah with true reliance, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they set out in the morning hungry and return in the evening full.”
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَوَكَّلْتُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ، لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا».
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “If you were to rely upon Allah with true reliance, Allah would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they go out in the morning hungry and return in the evening full.”
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ، لَرَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ: تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَعُودُ بِطَانًا».
Umar bin al Khattab heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿIf you were to put your trust in Allah as you should, you would be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 205)
سَمِعَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا يَرْزُقُ الطَّيْرَ؛ تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا»
"لَوْ أنكُمْ تَتَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِه لَرَزَقَكُمْ كَمَا تُرْزَقُ الطَّيرُ تَغْدُو خِماصًا وتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا".
"لَوْ تَوَكَّلتَ عَلَى اللهِ ﷻ حَقَّ تَوَكُّله، رُزقْتَ كمَا يُرْزَقُ الطَّيرُ تَغْدُوا خِمَاصًا، وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا".
