4. Zakāh (Charity)
the Messenger of Allah appointed a man from Banu Makhzum to collect Sadaqah. Abu Rafi wanted to go with him, but the Messenger of Allah said: "The Sadaqah is not permissible for us, and the freed slave of a people is one of them." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2612)
[Machine] The Prophet (Peace be upon him) sent Arqam ibn Abi Arqam to collect charity. He asked Abu Rafi, "Can you accompany me and I will give you a share of the workers' share?" Abu Rafi replied, "I cannot do that until I mention it to the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him)." So he went to him and said, "Arqam ibn Abi Arqam passed by me and asked me to join him so that he can give me a share of the workers' share." The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, "O Abu Rafi, we are a household to whom charity is not permissible, and the workers belong to the people themselves."
