I said prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and saw him spitting and rubbing it off with his shoe.

muslim:554b – Yaḥyá b. Yaḥyá > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > al-Jurayrī > Abū al-ʿAlāʾ Yazīd b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Shikhhīr from his father

'Abdullah b. Shakhkhir narrated it on the authority of his father that he said prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he spat and then rubbed it off with his left shoe.

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَقَدِ اتَّفَقَا عَلَى أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ الصَّحَابِيِّ وَالْحَدِيثُ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِهِمَا» صحيح على شرطهما
