What is the matter with them? They said: They have been detained for Jizya. Thereupon Hisham said: I bear testimony to the fact that I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Allah would torment those who torment people in the world.

مَا شَأْنُهُمْ قَالُوا حُبِسُوا فِي الْجِزْيَةِ فَقَالَ هِشَامٌ أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

‘Urwa bin Al Zubair said “Hisham bin Halim bin Hizam found a man who was the governor of Hims making some Copts stand in the sun for the payment of jizyah. He said “What is this?” I heard the Apostle ﷺ as saying “Allaah Most High will punish those who punish the people in this world.”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

‘Urwa bin Al Zubair said “Hisham bin Halim bin Hizam found a man who was the governor of Hims making some Copts stand in the sun for the payment of jizyah. He said “What is this?” I heard the Apostle ﷺ as saying “Allaah Most High will punish those who punish the people in this world.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3045)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

[Machine] Hisham, what is this, O Ayyad? Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: Indeed, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, punishes those who torture people in the world.

لَهُ هِشَامٌ مَا هَذَا يَا عِيَاضُ؟ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

[Machine] One of them to the worker: "What is this, O Fulan? I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say: 'Indeed, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, punishes those who inflict punishment on people in this world.'"

أَحَدُهُمَا لِلْعَامِلِ مَا هَذَا يَا فُلَانُ؟ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا» قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَخَلِّ سَبِيلَهُمْ

[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah will punish on the Day of Judgment those who punish people in this world."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللهَ يُعَذَّبُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا»

[Machine] One of them is for the worker. What is this, O Fulan? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, Allah punishes those who torment people in this worldly life."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Indeed, Allah punishes those who inflict punishment on people in the worldly life."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ يُعَذِّبُ الَّذِينَ يُعَذِّبُونَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا

"مَنْ عَذَّبَ النَّاسَ فِي الدُّنْيَا عَذَّبهُ اللهُ".

"إِنَّ الله يُعَذِّبُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذينَ يُعَذِّبُون النَّاسَ في الدُّنْيا".
