that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not precede the Jews and the Christians with the Salam. And if one of you meets them in the path, then force them to its narrow portion."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَبْدَءُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلاَمِ وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمْ أَحَدَهُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ  

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not precede the Jews and the Christians with the Salam. And if one you meets one of them in the path, then force him to its narrow portion." [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from Ibn 'Umar, Anas, and Abu Basrah Al-Ghifari the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَبْدَءُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلاَمِ وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمْ أَحَدَهُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you meet the Jews on the road, force them to the narrowest part of it, and do not initiate the greeting of peace with them." Abu Nuaim said: "To the polytheists on the road."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الْيَهُودَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا وَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ قَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِالطَّرِيقِ  

[Machine] It was narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said regarding the people of the Scripture, "Do not initiate the greeting of peace with them, but if you meet them on a road, then compel them to its narrowest part."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you meet them on the road, do not greet them with peace, and force them to the narrowest part of it." Zuhayr asked, "What about the Jews and Christians?" He replied, "The idolaters too."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ فَقُلْتُ لِسُهَيْلٍ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى؟ فَقَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ  

Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to go to the narrowest part of it. (Using translation from Muslim 2167a)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَبْتَدِئُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلَامِ فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا  

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "If you meet the polytheists on the road, do not initiate the greeting of peace to them, and force them to the narrowest part."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِالطَّرِيقِ فَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا  

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do not initiate greetings of peace with the people of the Book. But if you meet them on a road, then force them to the narrowest part.'"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تُبَادِرُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ بِالسَّلَامِ فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not initiate greetings of peace with the people of the Scripture, and if you come across them on a path, narrow it for them."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَبْدَؤُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ بِالسَّلَامِ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ»  

See 1103.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَلاَ تَبْدَأُوهُمْ بِالسَّلاَمِ وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا  

"إذَا لقيتمْ المشركين في الطريق فلا تبدءُوهم بالسلامِ، واضطروُّهم إلَى أضْيِقِها".  

"لَا تَبْدَؤُا اليَهُودَ ولَا النَّصَارَى بِالسَّلامِ، وَإذَا لَقِيتُمْ أَحَدَهُمْ فِي طرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُ إلَى أَضْيَقِه".
