"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever guards Ribat (the frontier) in the cause of Allah for one day and one night, he will have (a reward) like that of fasting and praying Qiyam for a month. If he dies he will continue to receive reward for what he did, and he will be kept safe from Al-Fattan, and he will be given provision.'"  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ رَابَطَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً كَانَتْ لَهُ كَصِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ فَإِنْ مَاتَ جَرَى عَلَيْهِ عَمَلُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَعْمَلُ وَأَمِنَ الْفَتَّانَ وَأُجْرِيَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُ  

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Keeping watch for a day and a night is better (in point of reward) than fasting for a whole month and standing in prayer every night. If a person dies (while, performing this duty), his (meritorious) activity will continue and he will go on receiving his reward for it perpetually and will be saved from the torture of the grave. (Using translation from Muslim 1913a)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ مَاتَ مُرَابِطًا أُجْرِيَ عَلَيْهِ عَمَلُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَعْمَلُ وَأُومِنَ الْفَتَّانَ وَيَجْرِي عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The devotion of one day and one night is better than fasting for a whole month and praying during that month. And whoever dies while defending the cause of Allah will receive the same reward, and his sustenance will continue, and he will be protected from the punishment of the grave."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ مُرَابِطًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ جَرَى عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ فِي الثَّوَابِ وَأُجْرِيَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُ وَأُومِنَ الْفَتَّانَ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ رَابَطَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ يَوْمًا أَوْ لَيْلَةً كَانَتْ لَهُ كَصِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ فَإِنْ مَاتَ جَرَى عَلَيْهِ عَمَلُهُ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ وَأَمِنَ الْفَتَّانَ وَأُجْرِيَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُ»  

"رباط يوْمٍ ولَيْلَةٍ خَيْرٌ منْ صيامِ شَهْرٍ وقيامه، وَإِنْ مات مُرابطًا جرى علَيْه عملُهُ الَّذى كَانَ يعْملُهُ، وأُجرى علَيْه رزْقُهُ وأَمنَ منَ الفتن".  

"رباطُ يوْمٍ ولَيْلَة فِى سبيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ صِيامِ شَهْرٍ وقِيامِهِ، فإِن مات جرى علَيْهِ أَجْرُ الرابطِ ومُؤْمَّن مِنَ الفَتَّان، ويُقْطَعُ لَهُ رزْقٌ مِن الجنَّةِ".
