15.55 Shaving the head is preferrable to cutting the hair, although cutting the hair is permissible

١٥۔٥٥ باب تَفْضِيلِ الْحَلْقِ عَلَى التَّقْصِيرِ وَجَوَازِ التَّقْصِيرِ

(818) bukhari:1726 – Abū al-Yamān > Shuʿayb b. Abū Ḥamzah > Nāfiʿ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ (got) his head shaved after performing his Hajj.  

(٨١٨) البخاري:١٧٢٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ

نَافِعٌ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ يَقُولُ حَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّتِهِ  

(819) bukhari:1728 – ʿAyyāsh b. al-Walīd > Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl > ʿUmārah b. al-Qaʿqāʿ > Abū Zurʿah > Abū Hurayrah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who get their heads shaved." The people asked. "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who have their heads shaved." The people said, "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet (invoke Allah for those who have their heads shaved and) at the third time said, "also (forgive) those who get their hair cut short."  

(٨١٩) البخاري:١٧٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَيَّاشُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَهَا ثَلاَثًا قَالَ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ
