“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw some people riding on their animals in a funeral (procession). He said: ‘Do you not feel ashamed that the angels of Allah are walking on foot and you are riding?’”
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا رُكْبَانًا عَلَى دَوَابِّهِمْ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ أَلاَ تَسْتَحْيُونَ أَنَّ مَلاَئِكَةَ اللَّهِ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ وَأَنْتُمْ رُكْبَانٌ
"We went with the Prophet (following) a funeral. He saw people riding so he said: 'Are you not ashamed? Indeed Allah's angels are on their feet, while you are on the backs of your beasts'"
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي جَنَازَةٍ فَرَأَى نَاسًا رُكْبَانًا فَقَالَ أَلاَ تَسْتَحْيُونَ إِنَّ مَلاَئِكَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ وَأَنْتُمْ عَلَى ظُهُورِ الدَّوَابِّ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ وَجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ
"We went with the Prophet (following) a funeral. He saw people riding so he said: 'Are you not ashamed? Indeed Allah's angels are on their feet, while you are on the backs of your beasts'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1012)
«خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَرَأَى نَاسًا رُكْبَانًا» فَقَالَ «أَلَا تَسْتَحْيُونَ إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ وَأَنْتُمْ عَلَى ظُهُورِ الدَّوَابِّ»
[Machine] About Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , that he went out for a funeral and saw people riding on their animals. Thawban said to them, "Are you not ashamed? The angels of Allah are walking on their feet, while you are riding on your animals. This is what is preserved with this chain and it is attributed to being stopped."
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺأَنَّهُ خَرَجَ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَرَأَى نَاسًا خُرُوجًا عَلَى دَوَابِّهِمْ رُكْبَانًا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ ثَوْبَانُ أَلَا تَسْتَحْيُونَ؟ مَلَائِكَةُ اللهِ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ وَأَنْتُمْ رُكْبَانٌ هَذَا هُوَ الْمَحْفُوظُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مَوْقُوفٌ
"أَلَا تَسْتَحْيُون؟ إِنَّ مَلَائكَةَ اللَّه يَمشُونَ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِم وَأَنْتُمْ عَلَى ظهُوِرِ الدَّوَاب رُكْبَانًا قَالَه لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى دَوَابِّهِمْ فِى جَنازة".
"عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ رَأى نَاسًا عَلَى دَوَائهِمْ في جِنَازَةٍ، فَقَالَ: أَلاَ تَسْتَحْيُونَ؟ ! الْمَلاَئِكَةُ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ وَأَنْتُم رُكْبَانٌ".
