1.34 The prohibition of that (i.e., performing ablution with the leftover water)

١۔٣٤ باب النَّهْىِ عَنْ ذَلِكَ

ibnmajah:373Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Abū Dāwud > Shuʿbah > ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal > Abū Ḥājib > al-Ḥakam b. ʿAmr

The Messenger of Allah forbade men to perform ablution with the left over water by a woman.  

ابن ماجة:٣٧٣حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ عَنْ أَبِي حَاجِبٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوءِ الْمَرْأَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah forbade men to perform ablution with the water left over by a woman, and women to perform ablution with water left over by a man, however both (spouses) may start to perform their ablutions at the same time." Abu ʿAbdullah Ibn Majah said: "The first (narration) is correct, and the second (narration) is Wahm (an error)." Another chain with similar wording.  

ابن ماجة:٣٧٤حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الأَحْوَلُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوءِ الْمَرْأَةِ وَالْمَرْأَةُ بِفَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ وَلَكِنْ يَشْرَعَانِ جَمِيعًا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَاجَهْ الصَّحِيحُ هُوَ الأَوَّلُ وَالثَّانِي وَهَمٌ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ وَأَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْبُخَارِيُّ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ نَحْوَهُ  

ibnmajah:375Muḥammad b. Yaḥyá > ʿUbaydullāh > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq > al-Ḥārith > ʿAlī

"The Prophet and his wife would take a bath from one vessel, but neither of them would have a bath with the leftover water of the other." (Daif)  

ابن ماجة:٣٧٥حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَهْلُهُ يَغْتَسِلُونَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَلاَ يَغْتَسِلُ أَحَدُهُمَا بِفَضْلِ صَاحِبِهِ
