ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ دُعَاءَ الْمَرْءِ رَبَّهُ فِي الْأَحْوَالِ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ الَّتِي يَتَقَرَّبُ بِهَا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا

ibnhibban:890 – Abū Yaʿlá > Abū Khaythamah > Jarīr > Manṣūr > Dhar > Yusayʿ al-Ḥaḍramī > al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Supplication is the worship." Then he recited: 'And your Lord said: 'Call upon Me, I will answer you. Verily, those who scorn my My worship, they will surely enter Hell in humiliation (40:60).'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3247)   

ابن حبّان:٨٩٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ}

quran:40:60 –

And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell ˹rendered˺ contemptible.  

And your Lord has said, ‘Call on Me and I will respond to you, in other words, worship Me and I will reward you — judging ˹this to be the meaning˺ by what follows. Surely those who disdain to worship Me shall enter (sa-yadkhulūna, or ˹passive˺ sa-yudkhalūna, ‘they shall be admitted into’) Hell ˹utterly˺ humiliated’, abased.
القرآن:٤٠:٦٠ –

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ  

{وقال ربكم ادعوني أستجب لكم} أي اعبدوني أثبكم بقرينة ما بعده {إن الذين يستكبرون عن عبادتي سيدخلون} بفتح الياء وضم الخاء وبالعكس {جهنم داخرين} صاغرين.
tirmidhi:3247 – Muḥammad b. Bashhār > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Sufyān > Manṣūr And al-Aʿmash > Dhar > Yusayʿ al-Ḥaḍramī > al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Supplication is the worship." Then he recited: 'And your Lord said: 'Call upon Me, I will answer you. Verily, those who scorn my My worship, they will surely enter Hell in humiliation (40:60).'"  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.
الترمذي:٣٢٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَالأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ( وقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ )  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
ahmad:18352 – ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash And Manṣūr > Dhar > Yusayʿ al-Kindiyyiʿan al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, supplication is worship.' Then he recited, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.' Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hellfire in humiliation.' [Surah Al-Ghafir, verse 60]."  

أحمد:١٨٣٥٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمَنْصُورٍ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْكِنْدِيِّعَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, supplication is worship." Then he recited: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.' Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible." (Surah Ghafir:60) Abu Abdur Rahman, Yusayi al-Kindi, said, "Yusayi bin Ma'dan said..."  

أحمد:١٨٣٨٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ} [غافر 60] قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُسَيْعٌ الْكِنْدِيُّ يُسَيْعُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ

the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "Indeed the supplication is the worship." Then he recited: "And your Lord said: Invoke Me, I will respond to you." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3828)   

أحمد:١٨٣٩١ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ

الحاكم:١٨٠٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الرَّازِيُّ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ الْكُوفِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ثنا كَامِلُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ «أَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَةِ هُوَ الدُّعَاءُ» وَقَرَأَ

{وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ} [غافر 60]
