ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ لِلْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ بِتَجْدِيدِ الْوُضُوءِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ

[Machine] Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I experience istihadah (continuous bleeding) for a month or two." He replied, "That is not menstruation, rather it is a type of vein discharge. When the actual menstruation begins, leave praying for the number of days you used to menstruate. Then, when it ends, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and make ablution for every prayer."

أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ الشَّهْرَ وَالشَّهْرَيْنِ؟ قَالَ «لَيْسَ ذَاكَ بِحَيْضٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ عِرْقٌ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَ الْحَيْضُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ عَدَدَ أَيَّامِكِ الَّتِي كُنْتِ تَحِيضِينَ فِيهِ فَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْتَسِلِي وَتَوَضَّئِي لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ»

Fatima bint Abi Hubaish came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ I get persistent bleeding from the uterus and do not become clean. Shall I give up my prayers?" Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No, because it is from a blood vessel and not the menses. So when your real menses begins give up your prayers and when it has finished wash off the blood (take a bath) and offer your prayers." Hisham (the sub narrator) narrated that his father had also said, (the Prophet ﷺ told her): "Perform ablution for every prayer till the time of the next period comes."

Fatima bint Abi Hubaish used to have bleeding in between the periods, so she asked the Prophet ﷺ about it. He replied, "The bleeding is from a blood vessel and not the menses. So give up the prayers when the (real) menses begins and when it has finished, take a bath and start praying."

Fatima bint Abi Hubaish asked the Prophet, "I got persistent bleeding (in between the periods) and do not become clean. Shall I give up prayers?" He replied, "No, this is from a blood vessel. Give up the prayers only for the days on which you usually get the menses and then take a bath and offer your prayers."

Fatimah b. Abu Hubaish came to the Apostle ﷺ and said: I am a woman whose blood keeps flowing (even after the menstruation period). I am never purified; should I, therefore, abandon prayer? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Not at all, for that is only a vein, and is not a menstruation, so when menstruation comes, abandon prayer, and when it ends wash the blood from yourself and then pray.

Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "I am a woman who suffers from Istihadah and I never become pure. Should I stop praying?" He said: "No, that is a vein, it is not menstruation. When your period comes, stop praying, and when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray."  

النسائي:٣٥٩أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ وَوَكِيعٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

"Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I do not become pure. Should I stop praying?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'That is a vein and is not menstruation. When your period comes, stop praying, and when it has passed, then wash the blood from yourself and pray.'"

[Machine] Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh used to experience istihadah (irregular bleeding outside of the menstrual cycle), so she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "It is only a vein and not menstruation. When menstruation comes, leave the prayer; and when it ends, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray."
