[Machine] I heard Khalid bin Al-Walid saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on a military expedition, and with me was Ammar bin Yasir. We encountered a group of people, some of whom were from a household that had embraced Islam. Ammar said, 'These people have embraced monotheism.' I did not pay attention to his words, and as a result, they suffered the same fate as others. Ammar then began blaming me, saying that if I had informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this situation, he would have come to their aid. So, I went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him about what had happened. When the Prophet ﷺ saw me, he did not show any support and turned away with tears in his eyes. He called me and said, 'O Khalid, do not insult Ammar. Whoever insults Ammar, Allah insults him, and whoever hates Ammar, Allah hates him. And whoever belittles Ammar, Allah belittles him.' Khalid said, 'O Messenger of Allah, forgive me, by Allah, nothing prevented me from responding to him except my belittlement of him on that day.' Khalid added, 'And there is nothing that I fear more than my belittlement of Ammar bin Yasir on that day.' This hadith has an authentic chain of narration according to the scholars of hadith. Mas'ud bin Sa'd, Mas'ood bin Sa'd, Sa'di, Sa'di, Mas'ood bin Sa'd, Sa'di. Muhammad bin Fudail bin Ghazwan, and Al-Hasan bin Ubaidullah an-Nakha'i have reported this hadith in a similar way."
