[Machine] Abu Talha read this verse, "March forth, whether light or heavy" [At-Tawbah 41]. He said, "Allah has commanded us to go out and has ordered us to go out. We went out in our youth and in our old age. Prepare me." His sons said to him, "May Allah have mercy on you, you have already fought during the time of the Prophet ﷺ , Abu Bakr, and Umar, and now we are fighting for you." He fought in a battle and died. They sought an island to bury him, but they were unable to do so until seven days had passed, and his body did not decompose.

أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {انْفِرُوا خِفَافًا وَثِقَالًا} [التوبة 41] فَقَالَ اسْتَنْفَرَنَا اللَّهُ وَأَمَرَنَا اللَّهُ وَاسْتَنْفَرْنَا شُيُوخًا وَشَبَابًا جَهِّزُونِي فَقَالَ بَنَوْهُ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ إِنَّكَ قَدْ غَزَوْتَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَنَحْنُ نَغْزُو عَنْكَ الْآنَ فَغَزَا الْبَحْرَ فَمَاتَ فَطَلَبُوا جَزِيرَةً يَدْفِنُونَهُ فِيهَا فَلَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا بَعْدَ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا تَغَيَّرَ

[Machine] Abu Talhah recited Surah Baraat and came across the verse "March forth, whether light or heavy." He then said, "Do I not see that my Lord is preparing me, a young man and an old man?" His sons said to him, "You have already fought alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he passed away. You fought alongside Abu Bakr until he died. You fought alongside Umar, and now we fight on your behalf." He said, "Prepare me." So they prepared him, and he rode on the sea but died. They could not find an island to bury him until after seven days, and his body did not decompose.

أَنَّ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ بَرَاءَةً فَأَتَى عَلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {انْفِرُوا خِفَافًا وَثِقَالًا} فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَرَى رَبِّي يَسْتَنفِرُنِي شَابًّا وَشَيْخًا جَهِّزُونِي» فَقَالَ لَهُ بَنُوهُ قَدْ غَزَوْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى قُبِضَ وَغَزَوْتُ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حَتَّى مَاتَ وَغَزَوْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ فَنَحْنُ نَغْزُو عَنْكَ فَقَالَ «جَهِّزُونِي» فَجَهَّزُوهُ وَرَكِبَ الْبَحْرَ فَمَاتَ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ جَزِيرَةً يَدْفِنُونَهُ فِيهَا إِلَّا بَعْدَ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَلَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ «

[Machine] Talhah read this verse, "March forth, whether light or heavy." [Surah At-Tawbah, verse 41] He said, "I see our Lord mobilizing us, old and young. Prepare me, O sons, prepare me." So his sons said, "You have already witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Abu Bakr, and Umar, and we are ready to fight." He said, "Prepare me." Then he embarked on the sea and died. They did not find any island for him except after seven days. He was buried there and did not change.
