[Machine] He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey praying eight units of the Dhuha prayer. When he finished, he said, "Indeed, I prayed a voluntary prayer out of desire and fear. I asked my Lord three things, and He gave me two of them and withheld one. I asked Him not to afflict my Ummah (nation) with famine and He did not do so. I asked Him not to allow their enemies to overpower them and He did not do so. And I asked Him not to make them divided and He refused."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ صَلَّى سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّيصَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةَ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي ثِنْتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُه أَنْ لَا يَبْتَلِيَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينَ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا فَأَبَى عَلَيَّ  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey praying eight rak'ahs of Duha prayer. When he finished, he said, "Indeed, I prayed a voluntary prayer out of desire and fear. I asked my Lord three times, and He gave me two and denied me one. I asked Him not to afflict my Ummah with famine for three years, not to make their enemies triumph over them, and not to make the Ummah divided into sects. He granted the first two requests but denied the last one."  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ صَلَّى سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةَ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي ﷻ ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَبْتَلِيَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينَ وَلَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا فَأَبَى عَلَيَّ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I asked my Lord three things, and He granted me two of them and withheld one. I asked Him to not destroy my ummah (community) through famine, and He granted it to me. I asked Him to not let them be ruled by enemies other than themselves, and He granted it to me. And I asked Him to not let them be divided among themselves and to not make them taste the pain inflicted by one another, and He withheld it from me."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينَ فَأَعْطَانِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ فَأَعْطَانِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَهُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ فَمَنَعَنِي  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while traveling, praying eight units of the Dhuha prayer. When he finished, he said, "I have prayed a prayer out of my own will and fear." Then I asked my Lord three things, and He granted me two and denied me one. I asked Him not to destroy my nation with famine, and He granted it. I asked Him not to let their enemies overcome them, and He granted it. And I asked Him not to let them be divided into factions, but He refused.  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ صَلَّى سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكْعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةَ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ فَسَأَلْتُ رَبِّي ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَقْتُلَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينِ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا فَأَبَى عَلَيَّ  

"إِنِّى صَلَّيْتُ صَلاةَ رَغْبَة وَرَهْبَة وَسَأَلْتُ ربِّى ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِى اثنتين، ومَنعَنِى واحدةً، سألتُهُ: أَنْ لا تبتَلَى أمَّتِى بالسّنِين فَفَعَل، وسَألتُهُ: أَن لَا يُظهِرَ عَلَيْهِم عَدُوّهُم فَفَعَلَ، وسألتُهُ: أَنْ لا يَلبِسَهم شِيعًا فَأبَى عَلَىَّ" .
