Hastening to perform good deeds to gain reward
I prayed the ʿAṣr prayer behind the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah. He did the salam (ended the prayer), then got up quickly and stepped over the people’s necks to one of his wives’ apartments. The people were alarmed by his haste. Then he came out to them and saw that they were surprised at his speed, so he said: "I remembered that we had some gold/silver bullion, and I disliked that it should hold me back ˹from gaining reward˺, so I ordered that it be distributed."
