(the daughter of Um Salama) My mother said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Shall I receive a reward if I spend for the sustenance of Abu Salama's offspring, and in fact they are also my sons?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Spend on them and you will get a reward for what you spend on them."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلِيَ أَجْرٌ أَنْ أُنْفِقَ عَلَى بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ إِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ فَقَالَ أَنْفِقِي عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ
I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Shall I get a reward (in the Hereafter) if I spend on the children of Abu Salama and do not leave them like this and like this (i.e., poor) but treat them like my children?" The Prophet said, "Yes, you will be rewarded for that which you will spend on them."
عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ فِي بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنْ أُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا إِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ قَالَ نَعَمْ لَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ
I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whether there is a reward for me if I spend on Abu Salama's sons, and I am not going to abandon them in this state (of helplessness) for they are my sons. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. For you is the reward for what you spend on them.
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ لِي أَجْرٌ فِي بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أُنْفِقُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا إِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ لَكِ فِيهِمْ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ فِي بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنْ أُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا إِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ لَكِ فِيهِمْ أَجْرٌ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, my family of Abu Salamah are in my care. They have nothing except what I spend on them, and I am not leaving them any inheritance like this or like that. Will I be rewarded if I spend on them?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Spend on them, for you will be rewarded for what you spend on them."
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي حِجْرِي وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا مَا أَنْفَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ كَذَا وَلَا كَذَا أَفَلِي أَجْرٌ إِنْ أَنْفَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْفِقِي عَلَيْهِمْ فَإِنَّ لَكِ أَجْرَ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ
[Machine] I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Do I have any reward in spending on the family of Abu Salamah? For I spend on them while they are only my in-laws and not my own family. Should I continue doing this or not?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Yes, you will have a reward for what you spend on them."
قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ هَلْ لِي مِنْ أَجْرٍ فِي بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ؟ فَإِنِّي أُنْفِقُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَإِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنِيَّ فَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكَتِهِمْ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا تَقُولُ كَانَ لِي أَجْرٌ أَوْ لَمْ يَكُنْ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «نَعَمْ لَكِ فِيهِمْ أَجْرٌ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ»
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, my clan, Banu Abi Salama, are in my house and they have nothing except what I have spent on them. Will I be rewarded if I spend on them?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, spend on them and you will be rewarded for what you have spent on them."
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي حِجْرِي وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا مَا أَنْفَقْتُ فَلِي أَجْرٌ إِنْ أَنْفَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنْفِقِي عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ»
