Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the Muslim slave performs the due of Allah and the due of his master, he will have two rewards."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الْمُسْلِمُ إِذَا أَدَّى حَقَّ اللهِ وَحَقَّ سَيِّدِهِ لَهُ أَجْرَانِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَالْحَجُّ وَبِرُّ أُمِّي لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَمُوتَ مَمْلُوكًا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A pious slave gets a double reward." Abu Huraira added: By Him in Whose Hands my soul is but for Jihad (i.e. holy battles), Hajj, and my duty to serve my mother, I would have loved to die as a slave.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْعَبْدِ الْمَمْلُوكِ الصَّالِحِ أَجْرَانِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْحَجُّ وَبِرُّ أُمِّي لأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَمُوتَ وَأَنَا مَمْلُوكٌ

For a faithful slave there are two rewards. By him in Whose hand is the life of Abu Huraira, but for Jihad in the cause of Allah, and Pilgrimage and kindness to my mother, I would have preferred to die as a slave. He (one of the narrators in the chain of transmitters) said: This news reached us that Abu Huraira did not perform Pilgrimage until his mother died for (keeping himself constantly) in her service.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْعَبْدِ الْمَمْلُوكِ الْمُصْلِحِ أَجْرَانِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْحَجُّ وَبِرُّ أُمِّي لأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَمُوتَ وَأَنَا مَمْلُوكٌ قَالَ وَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَحُجُّ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ أُمُّهُ لِصُحْبَتِهَا قَالَ أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ لِلْعَبْدِ الْمُصْلِحِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْمَمْلُوكَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the righteous enslaved man, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, if it were not for jihad in the way of Allah, and Hajj, and the righteousness of my mother, I would have preferred to die while I am enslaved."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْعَبْدِ الْمُصْلِحِ الْمَمْلُوكِ أَجْرَانِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِيَدِهِ لَوْلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَالْحَجُّ وَبِرُّ أُمِّي لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَمُوتَ وَأَنَا مَمْلُوكٌ

[AI] Abu Al-Muwajjah narrated from Abdan, who narrated from Abdullah, who narrated from Yunus, who said that Az-Zuhri said, "I heard Sa'id bin Al-Musayyib saying, 'Abu Hurairah said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the slave who brings benefit, 'There are two rewards' - by the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, if it were not for Jihad fi Sabilillah, Hajj, and the righteousness of my mother, I would have preferred to die as a slave."
