(The people of) Bani Salama intended to shift near the mosque (of the Prophet) but Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked to see Medina vacated and said, "O the people of Bani Salama! Don't you think that you will be rewarded for your footsteps which you take towards the mosque?" So, they stayed at their old places.
"Banu Salimah wanted to move from their homes to somewhere near the mosque, but the Prophet did not want the outskirts of Al-madinah to be left vacant, so he said: 'O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps?' So they stayed (where they were)."
[AI] "They should move from their homes and reside near the mosque. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ found out about this, he disliked the city being exposed. He said, 'O Bani Salimah, do you not consider your footsteps towards the mosque?' They replied, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' So they stayed there."
"Banu Salimah wanted to move from their homes to somewhere near the mosque, but the Prophet did not want the outskirts of Al-madinah to be left vacant, so he said: 'O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps?' So they stayed (where they were)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 784)
[AI] From their houses, they approached the mosque and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked that the city would be naked. So he said, "O Banu Salimah, don't you consider your footprints?" They said, "Yes," so they sat down.
