A man said: Messenger of Allah! we were in an abode in which our numbers and our goods were many and changed to an abode in which our numbers and our goods became few. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Leave it, for it is reprehensible.

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي دَارٍ كَثِيرٌ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَكَثِيرٌ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا فَتَحَوَّلْنَا إِلَى دَارٍ أُخْرَى فَقَلَّ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَقَلَّتْ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَرُوهَا ذَمِيمَةً

A man said: Messenger of Allah! we were in an abode in which our numbers and our goods were many and changed to an abode in which our numbers and our goods became few. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Leave it, for it is reprehensible. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3924)

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي دَارٍ كَثِيرٌ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَكَثِيرٌ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا ثُمَّ تَحَوَّلْنَا إِلَى دَارٍ أُخْرَى فَقَلَّ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَقَلَّتْ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَعُوهَا ذَمِيمَةً

Anas ibn Malik said, "A man said, 'Messenger of Allah, we were in a house and there were a large number of us and we had a lot of property in it. Then we moved to another house and our numbers decreased and our property became less in it (the new house).' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Go back to it (the first house) or leave it (the second house) - it is bad.'"

قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي دَارٍ كَثُرَ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَكَثُرَ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا فَتَحَوَّلْنَا إِلَى دَارٍ أُخْرَى فَقَلَّ فِيهَا عَدَدُنَا وَقَلَّتْ فِيهَا أَمْوَالُنَا؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رُدَّهَا أَوْ دَعُوهَا وَهِيَ ذَمِيمَةٌ

" عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا نَبِىَّ الله، إِنَّا كُنَّا فِى دَارٍ كَثُرَ فِيهَا عَدُوُّنَا، وَكَثُرَ فيهَا أَمْوالُنَا، فَتَحَوَّلْنَا إِلَى دَارٍ أُخْرَى فَقَلَّ فِيهَا عَدُوُّنَا وَقَفَتْ مِنْهَا أَمْوَالُنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُول الله ﷺ : دَعُوهَا أَوْ ذَرُوهَا وَهِىَ ذَمِيمَةٌ (*) ".
