that he saw a silver ring on the hand of Messenger of Allah ﷺ for one day only. Then the people had silver rings made for themselves and wore it. On that, Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw away their rings as well. (For the details of this Hadith, see Fath-ul-Bari, Vol. 12, page 438).

أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ اصْطَنَعُوا الْخَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ وَلَبِسُوهَا فَطَرَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمَهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ

I saw one day on the finger of Messenger of Allah (may peace be Upon him) a silver ring; so the people also got silver rings made and wore them Then Allah's Apostle ﷺ discarded his ring, and the people also discarded their rings.

أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا قَالَ فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ فَلَبِسُوهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَاتَمَهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِمَهُمْ

Anas b. Malik reported that one day he saw on the finger of Messenger of Allah ﷺ a silver ring, and the people also made silver rings and put them on. Then Allah's Apostle ﷺ threw his ring away, and so the people also threw away their rings.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ اضْطَرَبُوا الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ فَلَبِسُوهَا فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَاتَمَهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِمَهُمْ

Ziyad b. Sa'd, Shu'aib and Ibn Musafir transmitted it from al-Zuhri. 'Ali said in their versions: "of silver".

أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ فَلَبِسُوا وَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ

He saw a ring of silver on the hand of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] one day, and the people made and wore similar rings. Then the Prophet [SAW] threw his ring away and the people threw their rings away too.

أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا فَصَنَعُوهُ فَلَبِسُوهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ
