nasai-kubra:2384Aḥmad b. Sulaymān > Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Sufyān al-Thhawrī > Ḥakīm b. Jubayr > Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Yazīd from his father > ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever asks for something while he has what is sufficient for him, will come on the Day of Judgment with blisters or bruises on his face." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is sufficient for him or what is his sufficiency?" He said, "Fifty silver coins or an equivalent amount in gold." Yahya said, Sufyan told me, and I heard Zubaid narrating it from Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Yazid. Abu Abdul Rahman said, "We do not know anyone who narrated this hadith except Zubaid, other than Yahya bin Adam. And we only know this hadith from the narration of Hakim bin Jubair, and Hakim is weak. Shu'bah was asked about the hadith of Hakim, and he said, 'I fear the Fire.' And he was reported from long ago."

bayhaqi:13207Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > al-Ḥasan b. ʿAffān al-ʿĀmirī > Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Sufyān b. Saʿīd > Ḥakīm b. Jubayr > Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Yazīd from his father > ʿAbdullāh > Rasūl Allāh Ṣalá

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever asks for what is sufficient for him will come on the Day of Resurrection with silent or wounded cheeks on his face." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is sufficiency?" He said, "Fifty dirhams or their equivalent in gold." Yahya ibn Adam said, Abdullah ibn Uthman told Sufyan, my recorder, that Shu'bah was not narrating from Hakim ibn Jubayr. Sufyan said, "Zubayd informed us about Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Yazid 13208, and Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl informed us that Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, and Ya'qub ibn Sufyan mentioned the meaning of this story. Rather, it was narrated from Yahya ibn Adam from Sufyan, then Ya'qub said, "It is a distant story, and if it was a narration from Hakim ibn Jubayr to Zubayd, it would not be hidden from the people of knowledge."
