A man kissed a woman (unlawfully) and then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. Allah revealed: And offer prayers perfectly At the two ends of the day And in some hours of the night (i.e. the five compulsory prayers). Verily! good deeds remove (annul) the evil deeds (small sins) (11.114). The man asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Is it for me?" He said, "It is for all my followers."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ {أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ} فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَلِي هَذَا قَالَ: «لِجَمِيعِ أُمَّتِي كُلِّهِمْ۔»

A man kissed a woman, then he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. Then it was revealed to him: "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and in the early hours of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." The man said, "Is this for me?" He said, "For whoever among my Ummah acts upon it."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَأُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ ﴿وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ﴾. قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَلِيَ هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ: «لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي».

" And observe prayer at the (two) ends of the day and in the first hours of the night. Surely, good deeds take away evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful" (xi. 115). That person said: Messenger of Allah, does it concern me only? He (the Holy Prophet) said: It concerns every one of my Unimah, who acts according to it.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} قَالَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِيَ هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي

that a man unlawfully kissed a woman. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ to ask him about its atonement. So (the following) Ayah was revealed: And perform the Salat, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night (11:114). The man said: "Is this for me O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "For you and for whoever does that among my Ummah."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةَ حَرَامٍ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَنَزَلَتْ ( أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ) فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِيَ هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَكَ وَلِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي

“And perform the prayer, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114] He said: “O Messenger of Allah, is this only for me?” He said: “It is for everyone who acts upon it.”

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ يَعْنِي مَا دُونَ الْفَاحِشَةِ فَلاَ أَدْرِي مَا بَلَغَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ دُونَ الزِّنَا فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ {أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ طَرَفَىِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلِي هَذِهِ قَالَ لِمَنْ أَخَذَ بِهَا

“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114] The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, is this (the Verse) just for me?” He said: “It is for whoever acts upon it among my nation.”

“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. [AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have been affected by a woman in everything except that I have not had intercourse with her." He ﷺ said: "Then perform the prayers at the beginning and end of the day, as good deeds erase bad deeds." (Surah Hud 11:114)

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أُجَامِعْهَا؟ قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ} [هود 114]

“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114] The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, is this (the Verse) just for me?” He said: “It is for whoever acts upon it among my nation.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4254)

[AI] "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'I had relations with a woman in the garden, and I did everything except getting married to her. So, do with me whatever you wish.' The Prophet ﷺ remained silent. Then he called the man and recited the following verse to him: "Perform the prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds."

«جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَخَذْتُ امْرَأَةً فِي الْبُسْتَانِ فَأَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أَنْكِحْهَا فَافْعَلْ بِي مَا شِئْتَ فَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَهُ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ» {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ}

“And perform prayers at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114] The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, is this (the Verse) just for me?” He said: “It is for whoever acts upon it among my nation.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4254)

[AI] A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I met a woman in the garden, and I embraced her, kissed her, engaged in foreplay with her, and did everything with her except for intercourse." The Messenger of Allah remained silent, so Allah revealed, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember." The Messenger of Allah called him and recited it to him, then Umar asked, "O Messenger of Allah, is this verse specific to him?" The Messenger of Allah said, "No, it is for all people."

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَقِيتُ امْرَأَةً فِي الْبُسْتَانِ فَضَمَمْتُهَا إِلَيَّ وَقَبَّلْتُهَا وَبَاشَرْتُهَا وَفَعَلْتُ بِهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أُجَامِعْهَا فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} قَالَ فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَرَأَهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَهُ خَاصَّةً؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَلْ لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً»

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَقِيتُ امْرَأَةً فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ مَا دُونَ الْجِمَاعِ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ { أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ } الْآيَةُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَهِيَ لَهُ خَاصَّةً أَمْ لِلنَّاسِ عَامَّةً ؟ قَالَ بَلْ لِلنَّاسِ عَامَّةً وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ وَالْأَسْوَدِ وَبَعْضُهُمْ شَكَّ فَقَالَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ أَوِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have practiced everything except intercourse with a woman." So, Allah revealed, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds."

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا الْجِمَاعَ يَعْنِي مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ}

[AI] A man kissed a woman and then went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have done such and such." So Allah revealed the verse, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove the evil deeds." The man asked, "Is it for me, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "No, it is for my Ummah (nation)."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَبَّلَ امْرَأَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي فَعَلْتُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ} فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ هِيَ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ هِيَ لِأُمَّتِي»

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have acquired something from a woman that is lower than me." So Allah revealed, "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night" (Quran 11:114).

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي نِلْتُ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ مَا دُونَ نَفْسِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ}

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have kissed a woman, what should I do?" So, the verse {And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night} [Hud 114] was revealed. The man asked, "Is it specifically for me?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "It is for whoever from my nation that acts upon it."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَا تَوْبَتِي فَنَزَلَتْ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ} [هود 114] تَلَا الْآيَةَ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ هِيَ لِي؟ قَالَ «هِيَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي»

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have mastered everything except for sexual intercourse." So Allah revealed, "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day." [Hud 114]

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ غَيْرَ الْجِمَاعِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ} [هود 114]

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have been afflicted by a woman, but I have not given her anything." So Allah the Almighty revealed, "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day" [Hud 114].

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَصَبْتُ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ غَيْرَ أَنِّي لَمْ آتِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ} [هود 114]

[AI] A man met a woman in some of the streets of the city, and he had sexual intercourse with her. So he came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about it. Then Allah revealed in that regard: "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds." (Surah Hud, 11:114) until "for those who remember Allah" (Surah Hud, 11:114). Mu'adh said, "O Messenger of Allah, was this revelation specifically for him or for all people in general?" He said, "No, it was for all people in general."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَقِيَ امْرَأَةً فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَصَابَ مِنْهَا مَا دُونَ الْجِمَاعِ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى فِي ذَلِكَ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ} [هود 114] إِلَى {لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} [هود 114] قَالَ مُعَاذٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَزَلَتْ لِهَذَا خَاصَّةً أَوْ لِلنَّاسِ عَامَّةً قَالَ «بَلْ لَكُمْ عَامَّةً»

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have taken a woman in the garden and I have done everything with her except marry her. Do to me whatever you want." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not say anything to him, and he left. Then he recited this verse to him: "Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds." [Hud 114]

[AI] A man had an encounter with a woman and he went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about it. Then Allah revealed the verse: "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night." The man asked the Prophet, "Is this verse for me, O Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet replied, "No, it is for those who adhere to it from my ummah (nation)." Abu Abdullah Al-Rahman said, "This is the correct (narration)."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ} [هود 114] فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَلِي هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ «بَلْ هِيَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا هُوَ الصَّحِيحُ

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have experienced something with a woman less than the act of sexual intercourse, so Allah revealed this verse: 'And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night.' [Hud: 114] until 'a reminder for those who remember.' [Hud: 114]" Muadh said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it specific to me?" He said, "No, it is for all people."

إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ مَا دُونَ الْجِمَاعِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ} [هود 114] إِلَى {ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ} [هود 114] فَقَالَ معاذ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَهُ خَاصَّةً؟ فَقَالَ «بَلِ لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً»

A man kissed a woman and then came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him of that, so this Divine Inspiration was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ 'And offer Prayers perfectly at the two ends of the day, and in some hours of the night; (i.e. (five) compulsory prayers). Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins) That is a reminder for the mindful.' (11.114) The man said, Is this instruction for me only?' The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4687)

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَصَابَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةً فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ} [هود 114] قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلِي هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ هِيَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي»

A man kissed a woman and then came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him of that, so this Divine Inspiration was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ 'And offer Prayers perfectly at the two ends of the day, and in some hours of the night; (i.e. (five) compulsory prayers). Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins) That is a reminder for the mindful.' (11.114) The man said, Is this instruction for me only?' The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4687)
