ʿItban bin Malik used to lead his people (tribe) in prayer and was a blind man, he said to Allah's Apostle , "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! At times it is dark and flood water is flowing (in the valley) and I am blind man, so please pray at a place in my house so that I can take it as a Musalla (praying place)." So Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to his house and said, "Where do you like me to pray?" 'Itban pointed to a place in his house and Messenger of Allah ﷺ, offered the prayer there.  

وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذُهُ مُصَلًّى فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فَأَشَارَ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ  

"Sometimes it is dark or rainy or there is a flood, and I am a blind man; 0 Messenger of Allah ﷺ, (come and) pray in a place in my house that I may take as a prayer-place." He said: "Where would you like me to pray for you?" He showed him a place in his house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed there.  

وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذُهُ مُصَلًّى فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ لَكَ فَأَشَارَ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ  

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Mahmud ibn Rabi al-Ansari that Utban ibn Malik, who was a blind man, used to lead his people in prayer, and he said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ "Sometimes it is dark and rainy and there is a lot of water around outside, and I am a man who has lost his sight. Messenger of Allah, pray in a certain place in my house so that I can take it as a place to pray." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and said, "Where would you like me to pray?" He indicated a place to him and the Messengerof Allah ﷺ prayed there.  

أَنَّ عِتْبَانَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ كَانَ يَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذْهُ مُصَلًّى فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذُهُ مُصَلًّى قَالَ فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ؟ » فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ  

[Machine] And he said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is the darkness, the rain, and the flood. And I am a visually impaired man. So, O Messenger of Allah, pray in my house in a place I set aside as a prayer area." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and asked, "Where would you like me to pray with you?" He gestured towards a side of the house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed there.  

وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذُهُ مُصَلًّى فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ بِكُمْ؟» فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أتَّخِذْهُ مُصَلًّى؟ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ؟» فَأَشَارَ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ  

[Machine] It was narrated that 'Itban ibn Malik used to lead his people in prayer while he was blind. He said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Sometimes it is dark and rainy, and I am a blind man. So, pray in my house a place where I can designate as a prayer area." So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and asked, "Where do you like me to pray?" Itban pointed to a place in his house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed there.
