[AI] Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, told me that one day the Messenger of Allah woke up feeling ill. Maymuna said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, I noticed something different about your appearance today." He replied, "Indeed, Jibril (Gabriel) had promised to meet me last night, but he did not come. I swear by Allah, he has never broken a promise to me before." Maymuna said, "So his day passed in this manner, and he kept feeling discomfort in his chest. Then, a dog came and lay down near us. He ordered it to be taken out, and then he took water in his hand and sprinkled it in the spot where the dog had been lying. When evening came, Jibril met him and the Messenger of Allah said to him, 'You promised to meet me last night.' Jibril replied, 'Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.' On that day, the Messenger of Allah commanded for dogs to be killed, to the extent that he would order the killing of a dog that was in the house, while leaving the large dog in the courtyard."

Messenger of Allah, I find a change in your mood today. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Gabriel had promised me that he would meet me tonight, but he did not meet me. By Allah, he never broke his promises, and Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the day in this sad (mood). Then it occurred to him that there had been a puppy under their cot. He commanded and it was turned out. He then took some water in his hand and sprinkled it at that place. When it was evening Gabriel met him and he said to him: you promised me that you would meet me the previous night. He said: Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture. Then on that very morning he commanded the killing of the dogs until he announced that the dog kept for the orchards should also be killed, but he spared the dog meant for the protection of extensive fields (or big gardens).

Maimunah, wife of the Prophet ﷺ reported him as saying: Gabriel (peace be upon him) promised to visit me last night, but he did not visit me. Then it occurred to him that there was a pup under his bed. So he ordered and it was turned out. He then got water in his hand and sprinkled it on its place. When Gabriel ﷺ met him, he said: We do not enter a house which contains a dog or a picture. When the morning came, the Prophet ﷺ ordered to kill dogs. He ordered to kill the dog which guarded a small orchard, and left the dog which guarded the big orchard.

[AI] "Narrated by Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , she said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up feeling unwell one morning. So, it was said to him, 'What is wrong with you, O Messenger of Allah? You woke up feeling unwell?' He replied, 'Gabriel promised to meet me, but he did not come, and he has never broken his promise to me. He did not come to me that night, nor the second night, nor the third night.' Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ blamed a female dog that was under our niche and he commanded it to be removed. He then took some water and washed the place where it had been. Gabriel ﷺ came and said, 'You promised me, yet I did not see you.' The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'We do not enter a house that has a dog or a picture.' On that day, he commanded the killing of dogs, even seeking permission to kill a small dog that was by the wall.'"

The Messenger of Allah said to him: 'You [promised to meet me last night,; He said: 'Yes, but we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture,; the next day the Messenger of Allah Commanded that dogs be killed." [AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up one day and said: "Maymuna, O Messenger of Allah, I have disliked your appearance since today." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Jibril had promised to meet me tonight but he did not meet me. By Allah, he did not deceive me." He kept himself on that for that day. Then he felt a tingling sensation in his body, like the sting of a dog under his blanket. He commanded that it be brought out and then he took water in his hand and sprinkled it in that place. When evening came, he met Jibril, may ﷺ , and he said to him: "You promised to meet me yesterday." He said: "Yes, indeed, but we do not enter a house with a dog or an image in it." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the killing of the dogs until he even ordered the killing of the small dog of the wall but left the large dog of the wall.

[AI] Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz narrated to us towards the end of the tenth part of Al-Fawa'id Al-Kabeer by Abu Abbas. Abu Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Khalid ibn Khulayy Al-Himsy, who narrated from Bishr ibn Shuayb ibn Abi Hamzah, who narrated from his father, who narrated from Az-Zuhri, who narrated from Abdullah ibn Ka'ab ibn Malik Al-Ansari. Ka'ab ibn Malik was one of the three of whom they had doubts. Abdullah ibn Ka'ab informed me that Abdullah ibn Abbas informed him that Ali ibn Abi Talib came out from the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was suffering from the illness in which he passed away. The people said: "O Abu Hassan, how is the Messenger of Allah this morning?" He replied: "He is in a state of gratitude to Allah." Then Abbas ibn Abdil Muttalib took Ali's hand and said: "By Allah, you will be the Caliph after three. I swear by Allah, I see that the Messenger of Allah will pass away from this illness. Verily, I recognize the faces of the sons of Abdil Muttalib at the time of death. So let us go to the Messenger of Allah and ask him about this matter. If he has knowledge of it from us, we will take his advice. If he has knowledge of it from others, we will question him. Ali said: "By Allah, if we ask the Messenger of Allah about this matter and he prevents us from it, the people will never give it to us after him. And I swear by Allah, I will not ask the Messenger of Allah about it."

[AI] Bin al-Walid narrated that they both entered the house of Maymuna with the Prophet Muhammad. A roasted lizard was brought, and the Messenger of Allah inclined towards it with his hand. Some of the women in the house of Maymuna said, "Inform the Messenger of Allah about what he wants to eat." They said, "It is a lizard, O Messenger of Allah." So, the Messenger of Allah raised his hand, and I said, "Is it haram?" He said, "No, but it was not found in my people's land, so I find it repulsive." Khalid said, "So I repeated it and ate it, and the Messenger of Allah observed."
