My father said, "While we were praying with the Prophet ﷺ he heard the noise of some people. After the prayer he said, 'What is the matter?' They replied 'We were hurrying for the prayer.' He said, 'Do not make haste for the prayer, and whenever you come for the prayer, you should come with calmness, and pray whatever you get (with the people) and complete the rest which you have missed."  

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعَ جَلَبَةَ رِجَالٍ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا اسْتَعْجَلْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا  

While we said our prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ he heard tumult. (At the end of the prayer) he (the Holy Prophet) said: What is the matter with you? They said: We hastened to prayer. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Don't do that; when you come for prayer, there should be tranquillity upon you. Pray (along with the Imam) what you can find and complete what preceded you.  

أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَسَمِعَ جَلَبَةً فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا اسْتَعْجَلْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ فَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا سَبَقَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا

[Machine] "While we were praying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , we heard the footsteps of some men. When he finished praying, he called them and said, 'What is your matter?' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we hurried to join the prayer.' He said, 'Do not hurry when you come to the prayer, but have tranquility. Whatever you catch of the prayer, pray it, and whatever you miss, complete it.'"
