Messenger of Allah, no doubt, we had an evil time (i. e. the days of Jahiliyya or ignorance) and God brought us a good time (i. e. Islamic period) through which we are now living Will there be a bad time after this good time? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. I said: Will there be a good time after this bad time? He said: Yes. I said: Will there be a bad time after good time? He said: Yes. I said: How? Whereupon he said: There will be leaders who will not be led by my guidance and who will not adopt my ways? There will be among them men who will have the hearts of devils in the bodies of human beings. I said: What should I do. Messenger of Allah, if I (happen) to live in that time? He replied: You will listen to the Amir and carry out his orders; even if your back is flogged and your wealth is snatched, you should listen and obey.  

حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ الْيَمَانِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا بِشَرٍّ فَجَاءَ اللَّهُ بِخَيْرٍ فَنَحْنُ فِيهِ فَهَلْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ هَذَا الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ هَلْ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ الشَّرِّ خَيْرٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ فَهَلْ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ قَالَ يَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَئِمَّةٌ لاَ يَهْتَدُونَ بِهُدَاىَ وَلاَ يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي وَسَيَقُومُ فِيهِمْ رِجَالٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ قُلُوبُ الشَّيَاطِينِ فِي جُثْمَانِ إِنْسٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ تَسْمَعُ وَتُطِيعُ لِلأَمِيرِ وَإِنْ ضُرِبَ ظَهْرُكَ وَأُخِذَ مَالُكَ فَاسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ  

[Machine] They have a happy heart and a loved one who came in dire need. Those who regret, seek refuge in you, O Allah. I did not participate in his betrayal, so I seek your protection today from the companion of evil. People used to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about goodness, and I used to ask him about evil. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, we were in evil, then Allah brought us goodness. Will there be evil after this goodness?" He said, "Yes." I said, "And is there evil behind that goodness?" He said, "Yes." I said, "How?" He said, "There will be leaders after me who do not follow my guidance, and they do not seek my Sunnah. There will also arise men with hearts like the hearts of men but bodies of animals." So, I said, "What should I do if I encounter that?" He said, "You should listen and obey the Amir al-Azam (the supreme leader) even if he strikes your back and takes your wealth."  

لَهُمْ عَبٌّ مَسْرُورٌ وَحَبِيبٌ جَاءَ عَلَى فَاقَةٍ لَا أَفْلَحَ مَنْ نَدِمَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَمْ أُشَارِكْ غَادِرًا فِي غَدْرَتِهِ فَأَعُوذُ بِكَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ صَاحِبِ السُّوءِ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَسْأَلُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَيْرِ وَكُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الشَّرِّ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا فِي شَرٍّ فَجَاءَنَا اللَّهُ بِالْخَيْرِ فَهَلْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ وَهَلْ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرِ مِنْ شَرٍّ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ كَيْفَ؟ قَالَ «سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَئِمَّةٌ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِ وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بِسُنَّتِي وَسَيَقُومُ رِجَالٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ قُلُوبُ رِجَالٍ فِي جُثْمَانِ إِنْسَانٍ» فَقُلْتُ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ إِنْ أَدْرَكَنِي ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ «تَسْمَعُ لِلْأَمِيرِ الْأَعْظَمِ وَإِنْ ضَرَبَ ظَهْرَكَ وَأَخَذَ مَالَكَ»  

"عن زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَوْ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنَ الْيَمَانِ لَمَّا أَنِ احْتُضِرَ أَتَاهُ أُنَاسٌ منَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالُوا: يَا حُذَيْفةُ لَا نَرَاكَ إِلَّا مَقْبُوضًا، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ: غِبٌّ مَسْرُورٌ، وَحَبيبٌ جَاءَ عَلَى فَاقَةٍ، لَا أَفْلَحَ مَنْ نَدِمَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى لَمْ أُشَارِكْ غَادِرًا غَدْرَتَهُ، فَأَعُوذُ بِكَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ صَاحِبِ السُّوءِ، وَصَبَاحِ السُّوءِ، كَانَ النَّاسُ يَسْأَلُونَ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ عَنِ الْخَيْرِ، وَأَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الشَّرِّ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ الله! إِنَّا كُنَّا فِى شَرٍّ، فَجَاءَنَا الله بِالْخَيْرِ، فَهَلْ

بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرِ شَرٌّ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: هَلْ وَرَاءَ الشَّرِّ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: هَلْ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ الْخَيْرِ مِنْ شَرٍّ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ يَكُونُ؟ قَالَ: سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِى أَئِمَّةٌ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ بِهَدْيِى، وَلَا يَسْتَنُّونَ بسُنَّتِى، وَسَيَقُومُ رِجَالٌ قُلُوبُهُمْ قُلُوبُ شَيَاطِينَ فِى جُثْمَانِ إِنْسَانٍ، قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ إِنْ أَدْرَكَنِى ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: اسْمَعْ للأَمِيرِ الأَعْظَمِ وَإِنْ ضُرِبَ ظَهْرُكَ وَأُخِذ مَالُكَ".
