The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of you are those who are best to their families, and I am the best of you to my family. And Allah knows best.”

البيهقي:١٥٦٩٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ اللَّخْمِيُّ نا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ نا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ نا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لِأَهْلِهِ وَأَنَا خَيْرُكُمْ لِأَهْلِي وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of you is the best to his wives, and I am the best of you to my wives, and when your companion dies, leave him alone."

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الثَّوْرِيِّ مَا أَقَلَّ مَنْ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَرُوِيَ هَذَا عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُرْسَلٌ

[ت] الترمذي حسن صحيح غريب، وابن جرير، [حب] ابن حبّان [هب] البيهقى في شعب الإيمان عن عائشة (قوله: (وإِذا مات صاحبكم فدعوه) يتضمن النهى عن سب الأَموات والتعرض لهم، والمناسبة بينه وبين ما قبله الإِشارة إِلى تعميم الخير حتى الأموات، ذكره الرافعى في تاريخ قزوين)
