٤٩۔ كتاب المناقب
"After Salat As-Subh, it was said to Ibn 'Abbas that so-and-so - one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ - has died, so he prostrated. So it was said to him: 'Do you prostrate at this hour?' So he said: 'Has not the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [already] said: 'If you see a sign then prostrate?' Then which sign is grater than the passing of (one of) the wives of the Prophet ﷺ?'"
قِيلَ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ مَاتَتْ فُلاَنَةُ لِبَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَجَدَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَتَسْجُدُ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ فَقَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ آيَةً فَاسْجُدُوا فَأَىُّ آيَةٍ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ ذَهَابِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me and some words had reached me from Hafsah and 'Aishah. So I mentioned it to him. So he said: 'Why did you not say: "And how are you two better than me, while my husband is Muhammad and my father is Harun, and my uncle is Musa?" That which had reached her, was that they had said: "We are more honored to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than her," and that they said: "We are the wives of the Prophet ﷺ and his cousins."
دَخَلَ عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِي عَنْ حَفْصَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ كَلاَمٌ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَلاَ قُلْتِ فَكَيْفَ تَكُونَانِ خَيْرًا مِنِّي وَزَوْجِي مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَبِي هَارُونُ وَعَمِّي مُوسَى وَكَانَ الَّذِي بَلَغَهَا أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْرَمُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْهَا وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبَنَاتُ عَمِّهِ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ صَفِيَّةَ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ هَاشِمٍ الْكُوفِيُّ وَلَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِذَلِكَ الْقَوِيِّ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for Fatimah in the Year of the Conquest to speak to her, and she cried. Then he spoke to her and she laughed. She said: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died I asked her about her crying and her laughing. She said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me that he would (soon) die, so I cried. Then, he informed me that I was the master over all of the women among the inhabitants of Paradise, except for Mariam bint 'Imran, so I laughed.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَعَا فَاطِمَةَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَنَاجَاهَا فَبَكَتْ ثُمَّ حَدَّثَهَا فَضَحِكَتْ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ بُكَائِهَا وَضَحِكِهَا قَالَتْ أَخْبَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ يَمُوتُ فَبَكَيْتُ ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنِّي سَيِّدَةُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ مَرْيَمَ بِنْتَ عِمْرَانَ فَضَحِكْتُ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
said: "It reached Safiyyah that Hafsah said: 'The daughter of a Jew' so she wept. Then the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while she was crying, so he said: 'What makes you cry?' She said: 'Hafsah said to me that I am the daughter of a Jew.' So the Prophet ﷺ said: 'And you are the daughter of a Prophet, and your uncle is a Prophet, and you are married to a Prophet, so what is she boasting to you about?' Then he said: 'Fear Allah, O Hafsah.'"
بِنْتُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَبَكَتْ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهِيَ تَبْكِي فَقَالَ مَا يُبْكِيكِ فَقَالَتْ قَالَتْ لِي حَفْصَةُ إِنِّي بِنْتُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّكِ لاَبْنَةُ نَبِيٍّ وَإِنَّ عَمَّكِ لَنَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّكِ لَتَحْتَ نَبِيٍّ فَفِيمَ تَفْخَرُ عَلَيْكِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اتَّقِي اللَّهَ يَا حَفْصَةُ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of you is the best to his wives, and I am the best of you to my wives, and when your companion dies, leave him alone."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لأَهْلِهِ وَأَنَا خَيْرُكُمْ لأَهْلِي وَإِذَا مَاتَ صَاحِبُكُمْ فَدَعُوهُ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "No one should convey to me anything regarding any of my Companions, for I love that I should go out to them while my breast is at peace." 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought some wealth, so the Prophet ﷺ distributed it. Then I came across two men that were sitting saying: 'By Allah! Muhammad ﷺ did not intend the Face of Allah in his distribution, nor the abode of the Hereafter.' So I spread this when I heard them, and I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I informed him. So his face became red and he said: 'Do not bother me with this, for indeed Musa was afflicted by more than this and he was patient.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يُبَلِّغُنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي شَيْئًا فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا سَلِيمُ الصَّدْرِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِمَالٍ فَقَسَمَهُ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ جَالِسَيْنِ وَهُمَا يَقُولاَنِ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَادَ مُحَمَّدٌ بِقِسْمَتِهِ الَّتِي قَسَمَهَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الدَّارَ الآخِرَةَ فَتَثَبَّتُّ حِينَ سَمِعْتُهُمَا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ دَعْنِي عَنْكَ فَقَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
that the Prophet ﷺ said: "No one should convey to me anything regarding anyone."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يُبَلِّغُنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ شَيْئًا وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ شَيْئًا مِنْ هَذَا مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
