A child passed away and I said, "Glad tidings for him ˹as he would be˺ a bird from the birds of Jannah (Paradise)." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Don't you know that Allah created Jannah and He created the Hellfire, thus He created parties for this and created parties for that."  

تُوُفِّيَ صَبِيٌّ فَقُلْتُ: طُوبَى لَهُ عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ۔ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «أَوَلاَ تَدْرِينَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ الْجَنَّةَ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ فَخَلَقَ لِهَذِهِ أَهْلاً وَلِهَذِهِ أَهْلاً۔»  

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was called for a janāzah (funeral) of a child, and I said: "Glad tidings for this child who is a bird from the birds of Jannah (Paradise) for it has committed no evil nor has he reached it (being old enough to be able to commit sins.)" He said: "Or it may be otherwise: Allah created parties specifically for Jannah while they were in their father's loins, and He created parties specifically for the Hellfire while they were yet in their father's loins."  

دُعِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى جَنَازَةِ صَبِيٍّ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، طُوبَى لِهَذَا عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ، لَمْ يَعْمَلِ السُّوءَ وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْهُ۔ قَالَ: «أَوَغَيْرَ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ۔ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَهْلاً خَلَقَهُمْ لَهَا وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ لِلنَّارِ أَهْلاً خَلَقَهُمْ لَهَا وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ۔»  

"One of the children of the Ansar (who had died) was brought to the Messenger of Allah so he prayed for him." 'Aishah said: "How fortunate he is, one of the little birds of Paradise. He never did any evil or reached the age of puberty." He said: "It is better not to say anything, O 'Aishah Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, created Paradise and created people for it, He created them in the loins of their fathers. And He created Hell and created people for it, and He created them in the loins of their fathers."  

أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِصَبِيٍّ مِنْ صِبْيَانِ الأَنْصَارِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ طُوبَى لِهَذَا عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْهُ قَالَ أَوَغَيْرَ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ ﷻ الْجَنَّةَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلاً وَخَلَقَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلاً وَخَلَقَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ  

The Prophet (May peace be upon him) was invited to the funeral of a boy who belonged to the ANSAR and I said; Messenger of Allah! This one is blessed, for he has done no evil, nor has he known it. He replied : It may be otherwise, ‘A’ishah, for Allah created Paradise and created those who will go to it, and He created it for them when they were still in their father’s loins; and he created hell and created those who will go to it, and created it for them when they were still in their father’s loins.  

أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِصَبِيٍّ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ طُوبَى لِهَذَا لَمْ يَعْمَلْ شَرًّا وَلَمْ يَدْرِ بِهِ فَقَالَ أَوَغَيْرَ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ الْجَنَّةَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلاً وَخَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلاً وَخَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلاَبِ آبَائِهِمْ  

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was called to the funeral of a child from among the Ansar. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, glad tidings for him! He is one of the little birds of Paradise, who never did evil or reached the age of doing evil (i.e, the age of accountability).' He said: 'It may not be so, O 'Aishah! For Allah created people for Paradise, He created them for it when they were still in their father's loins, And He has created people for Hell, He created them for it when they were still in their fathers' loins.'"

دُعِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى جَنَازَةِ غُلَامٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ طُوبَى لِهَذَا عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الشَّرَّ وَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهُ قَالَ أَوَ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ خَلَقَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَهْلًا خَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ لِلنَّارِ أَهْلًا خَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ  

There is happiness for this child who is a bird from amongst the birds of Paradise. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Don't you know that Allah created the Paradise and He created the Hell and He created the dwellers for this (Paradise) and the denizens for this (Hell)? (Using translation from Muslim 2662b)  

تُوُفِّيَ صَبِيٌّ فَقُلْتُ طُوبَى لَهُ عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَوَلَا تَدْرِينَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ الْجَنَّةَ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ فَخَلَقَ لِهَذِهِ أَهْلًا وَلِهَذِهِ أَهْلًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a young boy from the Ansar (helpers) who passed away. So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, a bird of the birds of Paradise." He ﷺ said, "Do you not know that Allah created creatures for Paradise and made them for it as its people, and they are in the loins of their fathers, and He created the Fire and created creatures for it, and they are in the loins of their fathers."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِصَبِيٍّ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ ﷺ «أَوَلَا تَدْرِينَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ لِلْجَنَّةِ خَلْقًا فَجَعَلَهُمْ لَهَا أَهْلًا وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلًا وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ»  

"One of the children of the Ansar (who had died) was brought to the Messenger of Allah so he prayed for him." 'Aishah said: "How fortunate he is, one of the little birds of Paradise. أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِصَبِيٍّ مِنْ صِبْيَانِ الْأَنْصَارِ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ طُوبَى لِهَذَا عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا وَلَمْ يُدْرِكْهُ قَالَ أَوَ «غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ خَلَقَ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلًا وَخَلَقَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ النَّارَ وَخَلَقَ لَهَا أَهْلًا وَخَلَقَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمُ»  

"Allah created Jannah and He created the Hellfire, thus He created parties for this and created partiers for that."  

«إِنَّ الله تَعَالى خَلَقَ الْجَنَّةَ وخَلَقَ النَّار، فَخَلَق لِهَذِه أهْلًا ولِهَذهِ أَهْلًا۔»
