[Machine] "Khabbab reported from his father Khabbab ibn al-Aratt, the freed slave of Banu Zuhrah, who had witnessed the Battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, 'I observed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night until he performed the entire night prayer, even until dawn. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, Khabbab came to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I swear by my father and mother, you prayed tonight in a manner I have never witnessed before.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Indeed, it was a prayer of desire and fear. I asked my Lord for three things, and He granted me two and withheld one. I asked my Lord not to destroy us with what destroyed previous nations, and He granted it to me. I asked my Lord not to expose us to an enemy other than ourselves, and He granted it to me. And I asked my Lord not to make us wear garments of conflict, and He withheld it from me.'"
