[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had two silent pauses in his prayers, and Imran ibn Husain said, "I do not know what they are for from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So they wrote to Ubay ibn Ka'b asking him about it, and Ubay wrote back, "Indeed, Samurah had memorized it."  

أحمد:٢٠٠٨١حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ

كَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَكْتَتَانِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَا مَا أَحْفَظُهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَتَبُوا فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ يَسْأَلُونَهُ عَنْهُ فَكَتَبَ أُبَيٌّ إِنَّ سَمُرَةَ قَدْ حَفِظَ

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , there was a pause when he would make takbeer (say "Allahu Akbar") and a pause when he finished reciting the Surah. Imran bin Husain was disturbed by this, so they wrote to Ubay bin Ka'b about it. Ubay wrote back, confirming that Samurah had indeed memorized the narration from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَكْتَةً إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَسَكْتَةً إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ السُّورَةِ» فَعَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي ذَلِكَ فَكَتَبَ أُبَيٌّ صَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ سَمُرَةَ حَفِظَ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
