[Machine] He heard Abu Shuraikh Al-Khaza'i then Al-Ka'bi, who was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , saying: The Messenger of Allah gave us permission on the day of the conquest of Banu Bakr to fight them until we took revenge from them, and he was in Mecca. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the lifting of the sword, and a group of us on the next day met a man from Huza'il in the sacred precincts who was leading the Messenger of Allah in prayer to greet him. They killed him and hastened to reach the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking his protection. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about that, he became extremely angry. By Allah, I have never seen him more angry than he was then. We hurried to Abu Bakr, Umar and Ali to intercede with them and we feared that we may have been destroyed. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished praying, he stood up and praised Allah for what He had rightly ordained. Then he said: "As for what follows, Allah has sanctified Mecca and people have not sanctified it. He made it lawful (to travel through its territories) for me for an hour of the day yesterday, and today it is forbidden, as Allah made it forbidden the first time. And indeed, the most inviolable of things in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection are three: a man who was killed in it (Mecca), a man who killed someone in it without due right, and a man who sought blood revenge in Ignorance. By Allah, I shall persecute the man whom you killed." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said this while threatening them with his hand.

[Machine] Abu Shurayh ibn 'Amr al-Khuza'i, one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , informed him that the Banu Ka'b encountered a man from Hudhayl on the day of conquest. They wanted to kill him for his involvement in pre-Islamic bloodshed in the sanctuary while he was leading the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pledge allegiance to him upon Islam. They killed him, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of his killing, he became extremely angry. The sons of Ka'b then went to Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , seeking their intercession with him. When the evening came, he stood among the people and praised Allah as He deserves, then he said, "After that, Allah has made Makkah forbidden, but the people have not made it forbidden. Indeed, Allah has made it lawful for me for an hour of the day, and then it is forbidden, just as Allah has made it forbidden. Indeed, the enemies of Allah are three: a man who kills in it [Makkah], a man who kills without being killed, and a man who kills for pre-Islamic bloodshed. By Allah, I will hold responsible the man whom you have found." Abu Shurayh said, "May the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ransom him."

[Machine] Shuraih al-Khuzai was one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. On the day of the conquest, the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ encountered a man from Hudhayl. They used to seek his protection in the pre-Islamic era in al-Haram. The Messenger of Allah ﷺwould lead prayers behind him and pledge allegiance to Islam. However, they killed him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺwas informed of this, he became angry. The sons of Abu Bakr and Umar interceded on behalf of the killers to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. In the evening, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among the people and praised Allah for what was fitting. Then he said, "Indeed, Allah has made Makkah forbidden and did not make it permissible for the people. He allowed it for me for a brief time during the day, then it became forbidden as Allah had initially made it forbidden. Indeed, the worst of people in the sight of Allah are three: a man who kills someone within the sanctuary, a man who kills someone other than his killer, and a man who seeks the protection of the pre-Islamic era. By Allah, I will carry out the penalty for this man whom you have found guilt in." Abu Shuraih said, "May Allah protect the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

[Machine] Shurayh ibn 'Amr al-Khuza'i, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , reported that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ killed a man from the tribe of Hudhayl. They were seeking him because he had committed a crime during the period of ignorance inside the sacred sanctuary while intending to swear allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon embracing Islam. When the killing of the man reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he became extremely angry. The Banu Bakr rushed to Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ interceded with them to seek intercession with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When the evening came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among the people and praised Allah for what He had decreed. Then he said, "As for what follows, Allah has prohibited Makkah and the people have not prohibited it. He has permitted it to me for a certain period during the day, and then it is sacred as Allah prohibited it the first time. Indeed, the most oppressive of people to Allah are three: a man who was killed in it, a man who killed someone other than his killer, and a man who sought to commit an act of pre-Islamic ignorance. By Allah, I will avenge this man whom you have killed," said Abu Shurayh. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ desired to protect him from his own wrath.
