Anas reported that a man asked the Prophet ﷺ "Prophet of Allah, when will the Final Hour come?" He said, "Have you not made preparation for it?" He replied, " I am not prepared for a terrible event , but I love Allah and His Messenger." He said, "A man is with the one he loves."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ مِنْ كَبِيرٍ إِلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., "You will be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and ʿUmar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ وَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ لاَ شَىْءَ إِلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا فَرِحْنَا بِشَىْءٍ فَرَحَنَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ بِحُبِّي إِيَّاهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ أَعْمَلْ بِمِثْلِ أَعْمَالِهِمْ

A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! When will The Hour be established?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Wailaka (Woe to you), What have you prepared for it?" The bedouin said, "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and H is Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love." We (the companions of the Prophet ﷺ ) said, "And will we too be so? The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes." So we became very glad on that day. In the meantime, a slave of Al-Mughira passed by, and he was of the same age as I was. The Prophet ﷺ said. "If this (slave) should live long, he will not reach the geriatric old age, but the Hour will be established."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَائِمَةٌ قَالَ وَيْلَكَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا إِلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ إِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ فَقُلْنَا وَنَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَفَرِحْنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ فَرَحًا شَدِيدًا فَمَرَّ غُلاَمٌ لِلْمُغِيرَةِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَقْرَانِي فَقَالَ إِنْ أُخِّرَ هَذَا فَلَنْ يُدْرِكَهُ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ وَاخْتَصَرَهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

A man asked the Prophet ﷺ "When will the Hour be established O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" The Prophet ﷺ . said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, " I haven't prepared for it much of prayers or fast or alms, but I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَتَّى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صَلاَةٍ وَلاَ صَوْمٍ وَلاَ صَدَقَةٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

While the Prophet ﷺ and I were coming out of the mosque, a man met us outside the gate. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! When will be the Hour?" The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What have you prepared for it?" The man became afraid and ashamed and then said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I haven't prepared for it much of fasts, prayers or charitable gifts but I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with the one whom you love."

بَيْنَمَا أَنَا وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَارِجَانِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَقِيَنَا رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ سُدَّةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا فَكَأَنَّ الرَّجُلَ اسْتَكَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ صِيَامٍ وَلاَ صَلاَةٍ وَلاَ صَدَقَةٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

When would be the Last Hour? Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What preparation have you made for that? Thereupon he said: The love of Allah and of His Messenger (that is my preparation for the Last Hour) (for the Day of Resurrection). Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You would be along with one whom you love.

لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ حُبَّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

When would be the Last Hour? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: What preparation have you made for the Last Hour? He said: The love of Allah and of His Messenger (is my only preparation). Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You would be along with one whom you love. Anas said: Nothing pleased us more after accepting Islam than the words of Allah's Apostle: You would be along with one whom you love. And Anas said. I love Allah and His Messenger and Abu Bakr and Umar, and I hope that I would be along with them although I have not acted like them.

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِلسَّاعَةِ قَالَ حُبَّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا فَرِحْنَا بَعْدَ الإِسْلاَمِ فَرَحًا أَشَدَّ مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ أَعْمَلْ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I were coming out of the mosque that we met a person on the threshold of the mosque and he said to Messenger of Allah ﷺ: When would be the Last Hour? Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: What preparation have you made for that? The man became silent and then said: Messenger of Allah, I have made no significant preparation with prayer and fasting and charity but I, however, love Allah and His Messenger. Thereupon (the Holy Prophet) said: You would be along with one whom you love.

بَيْنَمَا أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَارِجَيْنِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَقِينَا رَجُلاً عِنْدَ سُدَّةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ فَكَأَنَّ الرَّجُلَ اسْتَكَانَ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ صَلاَةٍ وَلاَ صِيَامٍ وَلاَ صَدَقَةٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

" O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour be established?" So the Propher ﷺ stood to perform Salat and when he was finished his Salat he said: "Where is the one who asked when the hour will be established?" The man said: "It was I, O Mesenger of Allah!" He said: "What have you prepared for it?" He said: "O Messenger of allah! I have not prepared very much of salat nor fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A man shall be with whom ever he loves, and you shall be with whomever you love." So after the advent of Islam, I did not see that anything brought the Muslims more happiness than that.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى قِيَامُ السَّاعَةِ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ صَلاَةٍ وَلاَ صَوْمٍ إِلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ وَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ فَرِحَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ بَعْدَ الإِسْلاَمِ فَرَحَهُمْ بِهَذَا

" O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour be established?" أَنْ يَجِيءَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَيَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى قِيَامُ السَّاعَةِ؟ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟ قَالَ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرِ عَمَلٍ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرِحُوا بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ بِشَيْءٍ مَا فَرِحُوا بِهِ

[AI] A man from the Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment)?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "What have you prepared for it?" The Bedouin said, "I have not prepared much for it, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to him, "Indeed, you will be with those whom you love."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرٍ أَحْمَدُ عَلَيْهِ نَفْسِي إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ stood up and warned the people. Then a man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment)?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept silent and looked at him. We said to him, "Sit down, for you have asked the Messenger of Allah a question that he does not like." Then the man stood up again and asked the same question. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him with a more serious expression than before. He said to him, "Sit down, for you have already asked me a question that I do not like." Then the man stood up a third time and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Woe to you! What have you prepared for it?" The man replied, "I have prepared love for Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Sit down, for you will be with the one you love."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَحَذَّرَ النَّاسَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ اقْعُدْ فَإِنَّكَ قَدْ سَأَلْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا يَكْرَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ أَشَدَّ مِنَ الْأُولَى قَالَ فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَيْحَكَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] An Arab man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "When is the Hour (Day of Judgment)?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "The love of Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love."

جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ حُبَّ اللهِوَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] A man or a Bedouin came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment)?" The Prophet responded: "What have you prepared for it?" The man replied: "I have not prepared much except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet then said: "You will be with those whom you love." Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I have never seen the Muslims rejoicing over anything after accepting Islam more than they rejoiced on that day."

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ أَوْ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرِحُوا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ أَشَدَّ مَا فَرِحُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ

[AI] If a man from the Bedouins pleased us, he would come and ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So, an Bedouin man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to pray and when he finished the prayer, he said, "Where is the one who was asking about the Hour?" The man stood up and said, "It is me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What have you prepared for it?" The man replied, "I have not prepared much prayer or fasting, but I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A person will be with whom he loves." Then the Ansari man said, "I have never seen the Muslims rejoice over anything as they rejoiced over this saying."

إِنْ كَانَ لَيُعْجِبُنَا الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ يَجِيءُ فَيَسْأَلُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَيَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَهَضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟ فَقَامَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ أَنَا فَقَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ قَالَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرِحُوا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ فَرَحَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ وَقَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ مِنْ كَبِيرِ عَمَلٍ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صَوْمٍ

that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was delivering a speech and said: O Messenger of Allah when will be the ˹Last˺ Hour? He said, "What have you prepared for the Hour?" He said: ˹I have prepared the˺ love of Allah and His Messenger. He said, "You will be with the one you loved."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ: «وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِلسَّاعَةِ؟» قَالَ: حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ۔ قَالَ: «أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ۔»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked until he reached a mosque nearby. A sheikh or a man approached him and said, "When is the hour, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I have not prepared a lot of prayers or fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." He replied, "Then you will be with those whom you love."

أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ قَالَ أَتَاهُ شَيْخٌ أَوْ رَجُلٌ قَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْأَحْبَبْتَ

A man asked the Prophet ﷺ "When will the Hour be established O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" The Prophet ﷺ . said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, " I haven't prepared for it much of prayers or fast or alms, but I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love." أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ صِيَامٍ وَلَا صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صَدَقَةٍ وَلَكِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] A Bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the Day of Judgment. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What have you prepared for it?" The Bedouin replied, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "A person will be with those whom he loves." Then he asked, "Where is the person asking about the Hour?" The Bedouin said, "Here is a young boy." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "If this boy lives, he will not reach old age until the Hour comes."

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟ قَالَ وَثَمَّ غُلَامٌ فَقَالَ إِنْ يَعِشْ هَذَا فَلَنْ يَبْلُغَ الْهَرَمَ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ

[AI] I was with the Prophet ﷺ in his house when a man asked him, "When is the Hour, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Do you have any preparations for it?" The man said, "By Allah, I haven't prepared much for it in terms of great deeds, but I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, you will be with those whom you love, and you will have what you anticipate."

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا قَائِمَةٌ فَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ وَاللهِ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرِ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ

When would be the Last Hour? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: What preparation have you made for the Last Hour? He said: The love of Allah and of His Messenger (is my only preparation). Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You would be along with one whom you love. Anas said: Nothing pleased us more after accepting Islam than the words of Allah's Apostle: You would be along with one whom you love. And Anas said. I love Allah and His Messenger and Abu Bakr and Umar, and I hope that I would be along with them although I have not acted like them. (Using translation from Muslim 2639d)

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ وَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لِلسَّاعَةِ؟ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا فَرِحْنَا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ فَرَحَنَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ لِحُبِّي إِيَّاهُمْ وَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَا أَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِهِمْ

" O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour be established?" So the Propher ﷺ stood to perform Salat and when he was finished his Salat he said: "Where is the one who asked when the hour will be established?" The man said: "It was I, O Mesenger of Allah!" He said: "What have you prepared for it?" He said: "O Messenger of allah! I have not prepared very much of salat nor fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A man shall be with whom ever he loves, and you shall be with whomever you love." So after the advent of Islam, I did not see that anything brought the Muslims more happiness than that. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2385)

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking until he reached the mosque or was close to it. A man or an old man approached him and said, "When is the hour, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "And what have you prepared for it?" The man said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I have not prepared much prayer or fasting for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will be with those you love."

أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ أَوْ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ أَتَاهُ شَيْخٌ أَوْ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ عَمَلٍ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ وَلَكِنِّي أَحَبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] An Arab came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "When is the Hour?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "The love of Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love."

جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ قَالَ أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

[AI] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his house when a man came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment)?" He said, "Indeed, the Hour is coming, but what have you prepared for it?" The man said, "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I have not prepared much for it except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, you will be with whom you love and you will have what you anticipate." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to pray. After he finished his prayer, he asked, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" So the man approached, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked towards the house and saw a boy in the company of a group from the tribe of Abu Hurairah, called Sa'ad ibn Malik. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This boy, if he lives long enough, he will not grow old until the Hour comes." Al-Hasan said, and Anas informed me, "That boy was one of my peers at that time."

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَجَاءَه رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا قَائِمَةٌ فَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرِ عَمَلٍ غَيْرَ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟ فَأَتَى الرَّجُلُ فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَىالْبَيْتِ فَإِذَا غُلَامٌ مِنْ دَوْسٍ مِنْ رَهْطِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَذَا الْغُلَامُ إِنْ طَالَ بِهِ عُمُرٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ بِهِ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسٌ أَنَّ الْغُلَامَ كَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مِنْ أَقْرَانِي

" O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour be established?" [AI] A Bedouin asked the Prophet ﷺ a question, and they were more deserving of asking him than anyone else. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) be?" He replied, "What have you prepared for it?" He said, "I have not prepared for it except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You will be with those whom you love." Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I have never seen the Muslims rejoicing over anything after Islam more than they rejoiced over his statement."

[AI] "Oh Prophet of Allah, when is the Hour?" He said, "Surely, it is near. What have you prepared for it?" He said, "I have not prepared much except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "Indeed, you will be with whom you love, and you will have what you intend."

يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّهَا قَائِمَةٌ فَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ » قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَثِيرَ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكَ مَا احْتَسَبْتَ»

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour be established? And the prayer has been established, so when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he said, 'Where is the one who asked about the Hour?' The man said, 'Here I am, O Messenger of Allah.' He ﷺ said, 'It is coming, so what have you prepared for it?' He replied, 'I have not prepared a great deal, except that I love Allah and His Messenger.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'You will be with those whom you love.' A man among the Ansar, whose name was Muhammad, was present, and he said, 'If this man lives, he will not see a gray hair until the Hour is established.'"

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ؟ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ «أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟ » قَالَ هَا أَنَا ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا قَائِمَةٌ فَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ » قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ عَمَلٍ غَيْرَ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ» قَالَ وَعِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ مُحَمَّدٌ فقَالَ «إِنْ يَعِشْ هَذَا فَلَا يُدْرِكُهُ الْهَرَمُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ»

قَالَ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيُّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ لَا وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرِ صَلَاةٍ وَلَا صِيَامٍ إِلَّا إِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ قَالَ فَوَثَبَ الشَّيْخُ فَبَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَعُوهُ فَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَصَبَّ عَلَى بَوْلِهِ مَاءً

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَحَذَّرَ النَّاسَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ اقْعُدْ فَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا يَكْرَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَتَبَيَّنَ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَشَدَّ مِنَ الأُولَى يَعْنِي الْكَرَاهَةَ قَالَ فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثة فَقَالَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ وَيْحَكَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا حُبَّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ من أحببت

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَرَضَ لَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ يا رَسولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرِ خَيْرٍ غَيْرَ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ فَأَنْتَ مَعَ من أحببت

قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فقال يارسول اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا إلاَّ أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ فَمَا رأيت المسلمين فرحوا بشيء بعد إسلامهم أَشَدَّ فَرَحًا مِنْهُمْ بِقَوْلِهِ

[AI] A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the Hour (i.e., the Day of Judgment). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "I have not prepared much except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "You will be with those whom you love."

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ فَقَالَ «مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟» قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرًا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ قَالَ «فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and spoke to the people. Then a man stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured with his face, so we told him to sit down, for you have asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ something he dislikes. Then the man stood up for the second time and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ frowned more intensely this time. Then the man stood up for the third time and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Woe to you! What have you prepared for it?" The man replied, "I have prepared love for Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then sit down, for you will be with those whom you love."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَحَدَّثَ النَّاسَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ اقْعُدْ فَإِنَّكَ سَأَلْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَكْرَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَبَسَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ أَشَدَّ مِنَ الْأُولَى ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَيْحَكَ وَمَاذَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟» فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ»

"سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ، فَقَالَ: مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا؟ قَالَ مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَثِيرًا إلَّا أَنى أُحِبُّ الله وَرَسُولَهُ، قَالَ: فَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أحْبَبْتَ".
