ahmad:8869Ibrāhīm > Ibn al-Mubārak > Maʿmar > Hammām > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "A good word is a charity, and every step taken towards prayer is a charity."

ahmad:8870Ibrāhīm > Ibn Mubārak > Kathīr b. Zayd Ḥaddathanīʿamrū b. Tamīm from his father > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "This month of yours, Ramadan, is a month in which the reward for good deeds is multiplied, a month that has never occurred for the believers better than it, nor for the hypocrites worse than it. Allah writes down the reward for the fasting person and multiplies it many times before they receive it, and writes down the reward for the voluntary prayers and other good deeds in the same way. As for the hypocrite, he neither considers the month as an opportunity for worship nor does he strive to escape from the sins and shortcomings. He is like a lost fortune for the believer who seizes it."

ahmad:8871Surayj > Ḥammād > Abū al-Muhazzim > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] I heard Abu Hurairah saying: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during Hajj or Umrah, and a man from the Jaraad tribe approached us. We began striking him with our whips and sticks until we killed him. Then we became doubtful as to what we should do since we were in a state of Ihram. So we asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, "There is no blame."

ahmad:8872Isḥāq b. ʿĪsá > Mālik > Sumay > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

"If the people knew what (virtue) there was in the call to prayer and the first row, and they not find any way to get to do that [1] other than by drawing lots, they would do that. If they knew what (virtue) there was in coming early to prayer, they would compete to be first in the Masjid. If they knew what (virtue) there was in Al-'Atamah and Subh, they would come to them even if they had to crawl." [1] Indicating the two mentioned items: that is the call to prayer and praying in the first row. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 540)

ahmad:8873Isḥāq b. ʿĪsá > Mālik > Sumay > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

He who uttered these words:" There is no god but Allah, the One, having no partner with Him. Sovereignty belongs to Him and all the praise is due to Him, and He is Potent over everything" one hundred times every day there is a reward of emancipating ten slaves for him, and there are recorded hundred virtues to his credit, and hundred vices are blotted out from his scroll, and that is a safeguard for him against the Satan on that day till evening and no one brings anything more excellent than this, except one who has done more than this (who utters these words more than one hundred times and does more good acts) and he who utters:" Hallowed be Allah, and all praise is due to Him," one hundred times a day, his sins are obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean. (Using translation from Muslim 2691)

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While a man was walking on a road. he became very thirsty. Then he came across a well, got down into it, drank (of its water) and then came out. Meanwhile he saw a dog panting and licking mud because of excessive thirst. The man said to himself "This dog is suffering from the same state of thirst as I did." So he went down the well (again) and filled his shoe (with water) and held it in his mouth and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for that deed and forgave him." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?" He said, "(Yes) There is a reward for serving any animate (living being) ." [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The first person to be called on the Day of Resurrection will be Adam, and it will be said to him, 'This is your father, Adam.' He will say, 'Here I am, O Lord, at Your service and for Your pleasure.' It will be said to him, 'Our Lord has commanded that Hell be filled with your offspring.' He will say, 'O Lord, how many are they?' It will be said, 'Out of every hundred, take ninety-nine.' Then we, the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , said, 'O Messenger of Allah, if ninety-nine out of every hundred are taken away, what will be left of us?' He said, 'My ummah (community) will be like the white hair on the black ox.'"

When you travel (through a land) where there is plenty of vegetation, you should (go slow and) give the camels a chance to enjoy the benefit of the earth. When you travel (through a land) where there is scarcity of vegetation, you should hasten with them (so that you may be able to cross that land while your animals ore still in a good condition of health). When you make a halt for the night, avoid (doing so on) the road, for the tracks are the pathways of wild beasts or the abode of noxious little animals. (Using translation from Muslim 1926b)
