أحمد:٨٤٦٩وحَدَّثَنَاهُ يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَهُ مُرْسَلًا

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said: "While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise. Then a woman came and performed ablution next to a palace. So I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They replied, 'It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab.' When I heard this, I turned away, feeling jealous. At that moment, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, was sitting with people near the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ . Umar cried when he heard this from the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ . The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said, 'Are you jealous of me, Umar, regarding your father?'"  

أحمد:٨٤٧٠حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَنْبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا وَعُمَرُ حِينَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَهُ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ حِينَ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟

"Indeed, the people of Paradise shall see the upper chamber like they see the eastern star, or the western star, disappearing in the far edge of the sky, or ascending due to the differences in levels." They said: "Are those the Prophets?" He said: "Yes. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, and groups who had faith in Allah and His Messenger, and believed in the Messengers." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2556)   

أحمد:٨٤٧١حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ هِلَالٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لَيَتَرَاءَوْنَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ كَمَا تَرَاءَوْنَ أَوْ تَرَوْنَ الْكَوْكَبَ الدُّرِّيَّ الْغَارِبَ فِي الْأُفُقِ الطَّالِعَ فِي تَفَاضُلِ الدَّرَجَاتِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُولَئِكَ النَّبِيُّونَ قَالَ بَلَى وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ وَأَقْوَامٌ آمَنُوا بِاللهِوَصَدَّقُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The old man continues to age and his body weakens, but his heart remains young in love of two things: the love of life and the love of wealth." Suraigh said: "The love of life and the love of wealth."  

أحمد:٨٤٧٢حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا فُلَيْحٌ وَسُرَيْجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ يَكْبَرُ وَيَضْعُفُ جِسْمُهُ وَقَلْبُهُ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ حُبِّ الْحَيَاةِ وَحُبِّ الْمَالِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it, the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks for it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4168)  

أحمد:٨٤٧٣حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَعَنَ اللهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle offers prayers perfectly and fasts (the month of) Ramadan then it is incumbent upon Allah to admit him into Paradise, whether he emigrates for Allah's cause or stays in the land where he was born." They (the companions of the Prophet) said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Should we not inform the people of that?" He said, "There are one-hundred degrees in Paradise which Allah has prepared for those who carry on Jihad in His Cause. The distance between every two degrees is like the distance between the sky and the Earth, so if you ask Allah for anything, ask Him for the Firdaus, for it is the last part of Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the Throne of Beneficent, and from it gush forth the rivers of Paradise." أحمد:٨٤٧٤حَدَّثَنَا فَزَارَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَخْبَرَنِي فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَصَامَ رَمَضَانَ فَإِنَّ حَقًّا عَلَى اللهِ ﷻ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ هَاجَرَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ أَوْ جَلَسَ فِي أَرْضِهِ الَّتِي وُلِدَ فِيهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نُنَبِّئُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ؟قَالَ إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِائَةَ دَرَجَةٍ أَعْلَاهَا لِلْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ مَا بَيْنَ كُلِّ دَرَجَتَيْنِ كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُ اللهَ ﷻ فَاسْأَلُوهُ الْفِرْدَوْسَ فَإِنَّهَا أَوْسَطُ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَعْلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَفَوْقَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمَنِ ﷻ وَمِنْهُ تَفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ

"A man came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if someone comes to steal my wealth?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Then fight. If you are killed you will be in Paradise, and if you kill him, he will be in the Fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4082)  

أحمد:٨٤٧٥حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَمْرٍو بْنِ قُهَيْدِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عُدِيَ عَلَى مَالِي؟ قَالَ انْشُدِ اللهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ انْشُدِ اللهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَانْشُدِ اللهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَقَاتِلْ فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ

أحمد:٨٤٧٦حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قُهَيْدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ complained to the Prophet ﷺ about the hardship when they kept their forearms far away from their sides while prostrating. He said: Take help with the elbows (by spreading them on the ground and sticking them to the sides). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 902)   

أحمد:٨٤٧٧حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

شَكَا أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَيْهِ مَشَقَّةَ السُّجُودِ عَلَيْهِمْ إِذَا تَفَرَّجُوا فَقَالَ اسْتَعِينُوا بِالرُّكَبِ

[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he said, 'Did you not see how Allah diverted the curse of the Quraysh from me and turned their insults into praise, while I am Muhammad?'"  

أحمد:٨٤٧٨حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ يَصْرِفُ اللهُ عَنِّي لَعْنَ قُرَيْشٍ وَشَتْمَهُمْ يَشْتُمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ

"Two will never be gathered together in the Fire: A Muslim who killed a disbeliever then tried his best and did not deviate. And two will never be gathered together in the lungs of a believer: Dust in the cause of Allah, and the odor of Hell. And two will never be gathered in the heart of a salve: Faith and envy." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3109)   

أحمد:٨٤٧٩حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي النَّارِ اجْتِمَاعًا يَضُرُّ أَحَدَهُمَا مُسْلِمٌ قَتَلَ كَافِرًا ثُمَّ سَدَّدَ الْمُسْلِمُ وَقَارَبَوَلَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي جَوْفِ عَبْدٍ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي قَلْبِ عَبْدٍ الْإِيمَانُ وَالشُّحُّ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Two women went out with two children of theirs, and the wolf attacked one of them and took her child. The next day they referred their dispute over the remaining child to Dawud, peace be upon him, and he ruled that (the child) belonged to the older woman. Then they passed by Sulaiman and he said: 'What is your story?' So they told him. He said: 'Bring me a knife and I will cut him in half (to be shared) between you.' The younger one said: 'Will you cut him in half?' He said: 'Yes.' She said: 'Do not do that; I will give my share of him to her.' He said: 'He is your child' and he ruled that he belonged to her." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5403)   

أحمد:٨٤٨٠حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَرَجَتِ امْرَأَتَانِ وَمَعَهُمَا صَبِيَّانِ فَعَدَا الذِّئْبُ عَلَى أَحَدِهِمَا فَأَخَذَتَا تَخْتَصِمَانِ فِي الصَّبِيِّ الْبَاقِي فَاخْتَصَمَتَا إِلَى دَاوُدَ فَقَضَى بِهِ لِلْكُبْرَى مِنْهُمَا فَمَرَّتَا عَلَى سُلَيْمَانَ النَّبِيِّ فَقَالَ فَكَيْفَ أَمَرَكُمَا؟ فَقَصَّتَا عَلَيْهِ الْقِصَّةَ فَقَالَ ائْتُونِي بِالسِّكِّينِ أَشُقُّ الْغُلَامَ بَيْنَكُمَا فَقَالَتِ الصُّغْرَى أَتَشُقُّهُ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ لَا تَفْعَلْ حَظِّي مِنْهُ لَهَافَقَالَ هُوَ ابْنُكِ فَقَضَى بِهِ لَهَا

[Machine] "On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: I only speak the truth. Some of his companions said: O Messenger of Allah, you jest with us. He replied: I only speak the truth."  

أحمد:٨٤٨١حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ إِلَّا حَقًّا قَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُدَاعِبُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ إِلَّا حَقًّا

[Machine] "On the Day of Judgment, most people will be in a lower position, except for those who say this and that."  

أحمد:٨٤٨٢حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْأَكْثَرُونَ الْأَسْفَلُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا

[Machine] "He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, 'Who are the best people?' He replied, 'I and those who are with me, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then it is as if he rejected those who remain.'"  

أحمد:٨٤٨٣حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْعَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟ فَقَالَ أَنَا وَالَّذِينَ مَعِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ عَلَى الْأَثَرِ ثُمَّ كَأَنَّهُ رَفَضَ مَنْ بَقِيَ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There will always be a group upon the truth, not harmed by those who oppose them, until the command of Allah comes to them while they are in that state.'"  

أحمد:٨٤٨٤حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَنْ يَزَالَ عَلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ عِصَابَةٌ عَلَى الْحَقِّ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ أَمْرُ اللهِ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, in one of the wings of the fly there is a disease, and in the other there is a cure. So if the fly falls into the vessel of one of you, then let him immerse it and then take it out."  

أحمد:٨٤٨٥حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الذُّبَابَ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءٌ وَفِي الْآخَرِ شِفَاءٌ فَإِذَا وَقَعَ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ يَتَّقِي بِالَّذِي فِيهِ الدَّاءُ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُهُ

The best rows for men are the first rows, and the worst ones the last ones, and the best rows for women are the last ones and the worst ones for them are the first ones. (Using translation from Muslim 440a)  

أحمد:٨٤٨٦حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّهَا أَوَّلُهَا  

ahmad:8487Yūnus And Ḥajjāj > Layth > Saʿīd b. Abū Saʿīd > Abū ʿUbaydah > Saʿīd b. Yasār > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "None of you should perform ablution and perfect his purification, then come to the mosque only intending to pray in it, except that Allah will greet him with delight, just as the people in the absence are greeted with delight upon their return."  

أحمد:٨٤٨٧حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ وَيُسْبِغُهُ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْمَسْجِدَ لَا يُرِيدُ إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ فِيهِ إِلَّا تَبَشْبَشَ اللهُ بِهِ كَمَا يَتَبَشْبَشُ أَهْلُ الْغَائِبِ بِطَلْعَتِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from four things: Knowledge which does not profit, a heart which is not submissive, a soul which has an insatiable appetite, and a supplication which is not heard." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1548)  

أحمد:٨٤٨٨حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْأَرْبَعِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ

The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) as saying : A muslim woman must not make a journey of a night unless she is accompanied by a man who is within the prohibited degrees. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1723)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no prophet who has not been given miracles similar to mine, which the people have believed in. The only difference is that what I have been given is a revelation that Allah has given to me. I hope to be followed by the most people on the Day of Resurrection."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ يُونُسُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ نَبِيٌّ إِلَّا قَدْ أُعْطِيَ مِنَ الْآيَاتِ مَا مِثْلُهُ آمَنَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَشَرُ وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُ وَحْيًا أَوْحَاهُ اللهُ ﷻ إِلَيَّ وَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ تَبَعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah ﷻ says, 'My believing servant is with Me as I am in the position of every good thing that he praises Me for, and I am the one who removes his soul from between his sides.' "

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "By Allah, I seek forgiveness and repent more than seventy times every day."  

أحمد:٨٤٩٣حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ وَأَتُوبُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً  

Rewards for those who listen and recite the Quran

ahmad:8494Abū Saʿīd a freed slave of Banī Hāshim > ʿAbbād b. Maysarah > al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī > Abū Hurayrah

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever listens to a verse from the Book of Allah Almighty will have multiplied rewards written for him. Whoever recites a verse will have a light on the Day of Resurrection."  

أحمد:٨٤٩٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «مَنِ اسْتَمَعَ إِلَى آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ ﷻ كُتِبَ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ مُضَاعَفَةٌ وَمَنْ تَلَاهَا كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the morning star rises, the affliction is lifted."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the use of the hanging rope during prayer.

[Machine] It was part of the Prophet's ﷺ response to say, "Here I am at your service, O God of truth."

كَانَ مِنْ تَلْبِيَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَبَّيْكَ إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet (PBUH), a man passed by a thorn on the road. He said, "I will remove this thorn from the road so that it does not harm a Muslim." It was then said that he was forgiven.  

أحمد:٨٤٩٨حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِجِذْلِ شَوْكٍ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ لَأُمِيطَنَّ هَذَا الشَّوْكَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ أَنْ لَا يَعْقِرَ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا قَالَ فَغُفِرَ لَهُ  

ahmad:8499ʿAffān Bihadhā al-Isnād

When any one of you eats food he should lick his fingers, for he does not know in what part of the food sticking to his fingers the blessing lies. (Using translation from Muslim 2035a)  

أحمد:٨٤٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَلْعَقْ أَصَابِعَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي فِي أَيَّتِهِنَّ الْبَرَكَةُ

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "When Allah loves a servant, he calls Gabriel and says, 'Verily, I have loved so-and-so, so love him.' Then Gabriel loves him, and thereafter an announcement is made in the heavens, 'Verily, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.' So the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and then acceptance is placed for him on earth. And when Allah hates a servant, he calls Gabriel and says, 'Verily, I have hated so-and-so, so hate him.' Then Gabriel hates him, and thereafter an announcement is made in the heavens, 'Verily, Allah hates so-and-so, so hate him.' So the inhabitants of the heavens hate him, and his hatred is placed on earth."  

أحمد:٨٥٠٠حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللهُ عَبْدًا دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ أَحْبَبْتُ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّهُ جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَحَبَّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّونَهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ يَضَعُ اللهُ لَهُ الْقَبُولَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَإِذَا أَبْغَضَ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ

Today the wall (barrier) of Gog and Magog has been opened so much, and Wuhaib (in order to explain it) made the figure of ninety with the help of his hand. (Using translation from Muslim 2881)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فُتِحَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ رَدْمِ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مِثْلُ هَذَا وَعَقَدَ وُهَيْبٌ تِسْعِينَ

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Verily, the Imam is only to be followed. So when he says 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the greatest), say 'Allahu Akbar' and do not say it until he says it. And when he bows, bow with him and do not bow until he bows. And when he says 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears those who praise Him), say 'Rabbana wa lakal hamd' (Our Lord, praise is for You) and do not say it until he says it. And when he prostrates, prostrate with him and do not prostrate until he prostrates. And if he prays sitting, then pray all sitting."  

أحمد:٨٥٠٢حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَلَا تُكَبِّرُوا حَتَّى يُكَبِّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَلَا تَرْكَعُوا حَتَّى يَرْكَعَ وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا وَلَا تَسْجُدُوا حَتَّى يَسْجُدَ وَإِنْ صَلَّى جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا أَجْمَعُونَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "We (Muslims) are the last in the world, but will be foremost on the Day of Resurrection." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6624)  

أحمد:٨٥٠٣حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَيْدَ أَنَّ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ فَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهُ فَغَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى فَسَكَتَفَقَالَ حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ  

ahmad:8504ʿAffān > Wuhayb > ʿAbdullāh b. Ṭāwus from his father > Abū Hurayrah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Beware of suspicion, for it is the worst of false tales and don't look for the other's faults and don't spy and don't hate each other, and don't desert (cut your relations with) one another O Allah's slaves, be brothers!" (See Hadith No. 90) (Using translation from Bukhārī 6724)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ لَا تَحَسَّسُوا ولَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللهِ إِخْوَانًا

[Machine] From the prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever obeys me has indeed obeyed Allah, and whoever obeys the leader has indeed obeyed me."  

أحمد:٨٥٠٥حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللهَ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَ الْأَمِيرَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَنِي  

ahmad:8506ʿAffān > ʿAbd al-Wāḥid / Ibn Ziyād > ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb from my father

[Machine] I heard Abu Hurairah mention that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The dream of a Muslim is one part of seventy parts of prophethood."  

أحمد:٨٥٠٦حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رُؤْيَا الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ  

ahmad:8507ʿAffān > Abū ʿAwānah > ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr > Muḥammad b. al-Muntashir > Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Hurayrah

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best fasting after the month of Ramadan is the month of Allah, Al-Muharram, and the best prayer is prayer at night.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1613)   

أحمد:٨٥٠٧حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْمَفْرُوضَةِ صَلَاةٌ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ  

ahmad:8508ʿAffān > ʿAbd al-Wāḥid > ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb from my father > Abū Hurayrah

“Whoever sees me in a dream has (really) seen me, for Satan cannot appear in my form.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3901)  

أحمد:٨٥٠٨حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهِ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَتَمَثَّلُ بِي  

ahmad:8509ʿAffān > Ḥammād > Suhayl b. Abū Ṣāliḥ

[Machine] I was sitting with my father and there was a servant with him. The servant stood up, so I sat in the servant's place. My father told me to get up from his place, for Abu Huraira told us that the Prophet ﷺ said, "When any one of you stands up from his sitting place, then returns to it, he has more right to it, except for Suhayl." When my father made me stand up, I felt embarrassed.  

أحمد:٨٥٠٩حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي جَالِسًا وَعِنْدَهُ غُلَامٌ فَقَامَ الْغُلَامُ فَقَعَدْتُ فِي مَقْعَدِ الْغُلَامِ فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي قُمْ عَنْ مَقْعَدِهِ إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ سُهَيْلًا قَالَ لَمَّا أَقَامَنِي تَقَاصَرَتْ بِي نَفْسِي  

ahmad:8510ʿAffān > Wuhayb > Muḥammad b. ʿAjlān > Bukayr b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ashaj > ʿAjlān Abū Muḥammadʿan Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said to the slave: "His food and clothing are his responsibility, and he should not be burdened with work beyond his capability."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْمَمْلُوكِ طَعَامُهُ وَكِسْوَتُهُ وَلَا يُكَلَّفُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَا يُطِيقُ

The famine would not break out because of drought, but there would be famine despite heavy rainfall as nothing would grow from the earth. (Using translation from Muslim 2904)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ السَّنَةَ لَيْسَ بِأَنْ لَا يَكُونَ فِيهَا مَطَرٌ وَلَكِنَّ السَّنَةَ أَنْ تُمْطِرَ السَّمَاءُ وَلَا تُنْبِتَ الْأَرْضُ

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Greed and faith cannot exist in the heart of a man together. The dust on the path of Allah and the smoke of Hellfire cannot be combined on the face of a servant." Hammād said, and one of them said: Al-Qaqa' bin al-Lajlaaj, and the other said: Al-Lajlaaj bin al-Qaqa’.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ شحٌّ وَإِيمَانٌ فِي قَلْبِ رَجُلٍ وَلَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ فِي وَجْهِ عَبْدٍ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْقَعْقَاعُ بْنُ اللَّجْلَاجِ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ اللَّجْلَاجُ بْنُ الْقَعْقَاعِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: The best medical treatment you apply is cupping. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3857)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a man says that the people are destroyed, then he is the one who has destroyed them."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ قَدْ هَلَكَ النَّاسُ فَهُوَ أَهْلَكُهُمْ

Messenger of Allah, direct me to a deed by which I may be entitled to enter Paradise. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) remarked: You worship Allah and never associate anything with Him, establish the obligatory prayer, and pay the Zakat which is incumbent upon you, and observe the fast of Ramadan. He (the bedouin) said: By Him in Whose hand is my life, I will never add anything to it, nor will I diminish anything from it. When he (the bedouin) turned his back, the Prophet ﷺ said: He who is pleased to see a man from the dwellers of Paradise should catch a glimpse of him. (Using translation from Muslim 14b)  

أحمد:٨٥١٥حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ دُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ إِذَا عَمِلْتُهُ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا شَيْئًا أَبَدًا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No one bears the hardships and efforts of Medina except that I will intercede for him or bear witness for him on the Day of Judgment."  

أحمد:٨٥١٦حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى لَأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَجَهْدِهَا إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

“I heard Salim bin ‘Abdullah narrating from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘You should eat this black seed, for in it there is healing from every disease, except the Sam (death).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3448)   

أحمد:٨٥١٧حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ

The Messenger of Allah said: "Every Khutbah that does not have the Tashah-hud in it, then it is like a severed hand." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1106)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ خُطْبَةٍ لَيْسَفِيهَا شَهَادَةٌ كَالْيَدِ الْجَذْمَاءِ
