[Machine] Hafsah bint Umar said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, if you were to wear a garment that is softer than yours and eat food that is tastier than yours, then Allah has expanded your sustenance and increased your blessings." He said, "I will testify against you on behalf of yourself. Don't you remember what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ suffered from hardship of living? He kept reminding you of it until he made you cry. He said to her, 'If I tell you that, by Allah, if I could, I would share with them the same severe living conditions, in the hope that I would attain their comfortable living."

[Machine] "For the sake of Omar, do not wear a garment softer than yours and do not eat more delicious food than yours, even though Allah has granted you ease and plenty. She said, 'I will argue with you until you speak for yourself.' He then mentioned the condition of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and what he endured in his life. She continued to remind him until she cried, and he said, 'Indeed, I have declared that I will share with them in their harsh living conditions, hoping that I will attain their comfortable living conditions.'"

[Machine] "O Umar, why don't you wear a softer garment than yours and eat a more delicious food than yours? So he replied, "I will argue with you about yourself." Then he reminded her of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do and the effort he exerted until he made her cry. He said, "I have told you that I had two companions, who used to walk a straight path. And if I took a different path than theirs, I would have walked on a different path than theirs.
