[Machine] Luqman said to his son, "O my son, sit with the scholars and engage with them actively, for indeed Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, revives hearts with the light of wisdom just as He revives the dead land with the downpour from the sky."  

الزهد لأحمد:٥٥٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ الْأَذْرَمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُلْبِدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَكِّيِّ قَالَ

قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ يَا بُنَيَّ جَالِسِ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَزَاحِمْهُمْ بِرُكْبَتَيْكَ؛ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَيُحْيِي الْقُلُوبَ بِنُورِ الْحِكْمَةِ كَمَا يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ الْمَيْتَةَ بِوَابِلِ السَّمَاءِ

malik:59-1 – Mālik

Yahya related to me from Malik that he heard that Luqman al-Hakim made his will and counselled his son, saying, "My son! Sit with the learned men and keep close to them. Allah gives life to the hearts with the light of wisdom as Allah gives life to the dead earth with the abundant rain of the sky."  

مالك:٥٩-١ – حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٌ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ لُقْمَانَ الْحَكِيمَ أَوْصَى ابْنَهُ

أَنَّ لُقْمَانَ الْحَكِيمَ أَوْصَى ابْنَهُ فَقَالَ يَا بُنَىَّ جَالِسِ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَزَاحِمْهُمْ بِرُكْبَتَيْكَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحْيِي الْقُلُوبَ بِنُورِ الْحِكْمَةِ كَمَا يُحْيِي اللَّهُ الأَرْضَ الْمَيْتَةَ بِوَابِلِ السَّمَاءِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Indeed, Luqman said to his son, 'O my son, stick to the gatherings of scholars and listen to the words of the wise, for indeed Allah revives hearts through the light of wisdom just as He revives the dead earth with a downpour of rain.'"  

الطبراني:٧٨١٠ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لُقْمَانَ قَالَ لِابْنِهِ يَا بُنَيَّ عَلَيْكَ بِمَجَالِسِ الْعُلَمَاءِ وَاسْتَمِعْ كَلَامَ الْحُكَمَاءِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يُحْيِي الْقَلْبَ الْمَيِّتَ بِنُورِ الْحِكْمَةِ كَمَا يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ الْمَيْتَةَ بِوَابِلِ الْمَطَرِ
