45. Khulayd al-ʿAṣarī

ahmad-zuhd:1312ʿAbdullāh > Muḥammad b. ʿUbaydullāh Abū Jaʿfar b. al-Munādī > Yūnus b. Muḥammad > Yaḥyá b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-ʿAṣarī > Ṣahbāʾ b. Aws Āmraʾah Khulayd

[Machine] That Khalid used to say, "There is no servant who supplicates to Him sincerely and then entrusts his affairs to Allah, except that Allah accepts his supplication and fulfills his need." So he would take his trust, and trust in Allah, and spend it without extravagance, with the intention of fulfilling his trust. When death came between him and his trust, Allah would say to his angels, "My servant Khalid fulfilled his need and entrusted his affairs to Me, so I took his trust and spent it without extravagance. I bear witness to you, my angels, that I have fulfilled his rights and forgiven him."

ahmad-zuhd:1313ʿAbdullāh > Hudbah b. Khālid > Hammām > Qatādah > Khulayd b. ʿAbdullāh al-ʿAṣarī

[Machine] "The believer can only be found in one of three situations: in a mosque that he frequents, in a home that he protects, or in a worldly need that he engages in without any harm."

ahmad-zuhd:1314ʿAbdullāh from my father > Sayyār > Jaʿfar > ʿUmar b. Nabhān > Qatādah

[Machine] Khalid al-Asari came on Friday and held on to the door handle. Then he said, "O brothers, is there anyone among you who does not want to meet his beloved? So love your Lord and walk towards Him in a noble manner."

ahmad-zuhd:1315ʿAbdullāh from my father > Sayyār > Jaʿfar > Thābit

[Machine] Khalid Al-Asari used to pray Fajr at his community center, then he would continuously remember Allah until the sun rises. After that, he would go home and be presented with two cushions, then he would close his door and say, "Welcome, O angels of my Lord. I bear witness by Allah that I have shown you the best of myself today, take it with the name of Allah, glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest." He would continue to do so until his eyes become heavy or he goes out to perform salah.

ahmad-zuhd:1316ʿAbdullāh from my father > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar

[Machine] About Khalid's saying in the sayings of Allah, "So he climbed and saw him in the midst of the hellfire" [As-Saaffat 55], He said in its middle, "He saw their skulls boiling and said, 'By Allah, if Allah had not informed him of it, he would have definitely experienced his goodness and his covering at that moment. So at that point, he said, 'By Allah, you were on the verge of ruining me.'" [As-Saaffat 56]. He said, "It has reached us that when he climbed, he saw their skulls boiling."

ahmad-zuhd:1317ʿAbdullāh > Muḥammad b. al-Faraj > Yūsuf b. al-Qarq > Sallām b. Miskīn > ʿUqbah b. Abū Shabīb > Khulayd al-ʿAṣarī

[Machine] "Indeed, everything has its own adornment, and the adornment of the mosques is the gathering of those who assist one another in the remembrance of Allah."

ahmad-zuhd:1318ʿAbdullāh from my father > Yūnus > Shaybān > Qatādah > Ḥaddath Khulayd b. ʿAbdullāh al-ʿAṣarī

[Machine] The believer is received with gentleness and compassion. He is also received with humility and submissiveness. He is received as wealthy, yet poor. It is said that he is received with humility towards people, but seeking guidance from his Lord. He is received with submissiveness to his Lord, while being honored within himself. He is received as wealthy and self-sufficient from people, yet needy towards his Lord. Qatadah said: These are the manners of the believers, and he is the best of people in knowledge and the easiest in provision.

ahmad-zuhd:1319ʿAbdullāh > Aḥmad b. Ibrāhīm al-Dawraqī > Bahz > Mahdī > Ghaylān

[Machine] About a man, if he was not extravagant, I do not know who he was, from Ibn 'Abbas. He said: When a crow caws, he would say, "O Allah, there is no bird except Your bird, and there is no good except Your good, and there is no god except You."
